HI all...I am heading down for my disney planning session in about a month. One of my main concerns is the flowers. I really don't want to spend a ton of money on something that is going to die. I had originally talked about doing silk flowers and just buying the flowers on ebay and going from there...but then I thought it might be less hassle and one less thing to cart to disney if I just did real simple real flowers...the cheapest bridal bouquet is $300 on the wish book and the cheapest bridesmaid bouquet (i'd be happy to do that too) is $125. Are these prices for real or is it just like the rest of the website where they sort of nail you with costs and then when you get down to it it isn't as awful as it seems? :earseek:

Jamie--I have emailed the woman you suggested, but with no response...any ideas?

TIA

I am interested in finding out as well. Let me know what the end result is. The estimated for me almost 1500 in floral, and I am trying to decide what to do.

I used to work for a florist MAKING everything you can think of for weddings! (I actually got fired because I fogot to put pins in some of the boutineers when I sent the package off to the curch... I guess everyone was freaking out because they couldn't get the fowers on... I was mad then because I was 18, but now I know how big of a deal that must have been!!!)

SO I think I might make the arangements for my bridesmaids, the corsages for the mothers, and the boutineers for all the men. It will be VERY cheap (even if a dozen roses costs me $50, it's still better then what they are charging) and I know it will come out nice. I have done all of my proms, and every friend of mine and my sister's as well so I know it will be nice. It is SO easy and I could give you tips if you would like!

I think Disney can work with you on your floral budget. As long as you don’t want exotic flowers (something like orchids) then you should be able to reduce the cost a bit. I believe my bouquet was around $225, and it was roses. I believe the reason the bridesmaids’ bouquets cost less is because they are smaller and a little bit less elaborate. Just tell Disney your concerns and see what they can come up with.

Codie - She hasnt responded??? Do you want her number? Email me at Jamie0201@aol.com and I will send you over all of her info again. I really think you need to speak with her, and get an estimate. We were VERY happy with her and her prices!!!!! She worked with us to get us exactly where we wanted to be budget wise.

YEs Yes Yes...I would love tips. I'm not going to make any final decisions until after my planning session end of May--but it looks like it might be silk flowers. They'll last longer anyway:) Where do you buy your flowers from...I was going to get them from ebay--but that always makes me a little nervous as you can never be sure of what you are getting...

I used silk flowers from a online site called annie & company.
She also sells on ebay. I did lots of research on the company and everyone was pleased!
I loved my floweres, every one thought they were real and I got everything for about 100.00 (my bouquet,2 bms,5 bouts, cake flowers). They were so easy to transport as they came to me all ready packed and ready to go!
Everyone thought my flowers were real :)

Does anyone have a better picture of the Cinderella Coach centerpiece, like in the Wish Book?

Also, we are having an interfaith wedding, so instead of bridesmaids carrying bouquets, they will be carrying candles. Does anyone have a decent link to some appropriately decorated candles?

Thanks!

sunkissed- check out theknot.com boards they have a ceremony forum & an ideas/advice link for interfaith weddings. there's also a wedding shop with a variety of unity candle sets.

Thank you for the link, but we all set on the details of our ceremony. We are not looking for a Unity candle, but candles which are decorated and easy to handle for the bridesmaids. It is a processional, different from the Christian tradition. Our ceremony is a civil one, since my fiance is not converting, but he is not religious, so the only elements in the service will be Jewish ones. Thanks, though.
