** WISH Volunteers for WDW Marathon Weekend **

Sad that we have to go all the way to WDW to see each other! I just signed up for the City of Oaks Half yesterday - that increase on Saturday gave me the boost I needed. I considered the full too, but I've had a hard time on the longer runs this season, and since I'm doing Victory Junction 4 weeks later, I'm going to use them both as training runs for Disney.

I haven't suggested to DH yet, but we'll have a car - we might be able to swing by and pick you guys up if no one else is in the area. I just booked POFQ for the weekend. Not real close, but not the other side of the world either.

Thanks so much for the offer, but at that hour of the morning, it's an awful lot out of the way. Unless there is someone else staying at one of the 3 monorail resorts, we are pretty much resigned to taking a cab. I will sign up for Raleigh today. We also plan to do RfVJ....it was so much fun last year! Is there a deadline for a cheaper price on that one? I haven't checked the website lately. At least we see other at those events.....and for a long stretch during those wee hours on Jan 10th when we're sloshing water.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think the start time IS the time you have to be at WWoS.....is that correct?

Yes, we had to be at WWoS at 3am last year.
Our scheduled shift was 3am-9am.

Jeanne - We'll be at WLV (or VWL?). We are likely getting a rental, as opposed to gettign cabs twice in one day. We could probably swing your way.

Jackie - Woo hoo for #2 & 9! How fun. We have cowbells too!

That would be great, Carrie......and we would be happy to compensate you for the cost. (JFYI, the regular expo busses back to each resort should be running when we are finished our shift, so transportation is really only an issue getting there in the early am.)

Good point. It would not be a big deal for us to sve you the bus trip, though. WHile we are big bus users, a direct ride with no stops or waits is always very nice.

Thank you for organizing the WISH Volunteers.

I am a definate maybe for volunteering for the full. We may have our grandson with us over Marathon Weekend. If I don't have him, I will be signing up to be a race volunteer. If he is with us, then JD & I will be out there Scream Teaming. I will let you know as soon as I know.

I think I want to do this (probably just me, as DH will need to stay with DD). Which water stop should I do for the full?

Amy: You know what I am going to say???>.......... Water stop #11 for the Full!! Come join Bryan, Maura and I!!!! The shift starts at 5am (time we have to be at WWoS) and ends at 10:30. This is the stop just as you are exiting the Magic Kingdom backstage area.

Amy - Or you could get an earlier start and join DH and I at Blue WS #2. Early shift (3am) but then done early to Scream Team in other spots.

Looks like Tracy and I are competing for team members but it's all good.

It's easy, see which water stop you would like to volunteer for (or something else if you want), I think blue water stop and #11 have some WISHers and would love to have more!!! (I'm at #11 with Maura andc Bryan.)
