Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

I have some questions for you past Wish Trippers...

We got our expense check yesterday. Make A Wish has money allocated for parking. Did ya'll have to pay for any parking? I thought that the GKTW button got us free parking.

They allocated some money for character dining...but then they allocated $27.50 for "Dinner Theater." I can't figure out what that is for. Is that for one of those medevil times or pirate shows?

I'm Setting up our own allocations and below are my budget line items. Am I forgetting anything I should be budgeting for???

*Luggage to Orlando ($15 per bag)
*Luggage home from Orlando
*Airport Tips to Orlando
*Airport Tips home from Orlando
*Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Tickets
*Photo Pass CD (pre-paid)
*Face Painting at Animal Kingdom (anyone remember the price on this?)
*Meals (including character dining) --I have a seperate detailed breakdown for this category
*Rental Car Extension (anyone remember what the per day rate was on your van, we need an additional 2 days)
*Gas (How many tanks of gas did you use?)
*Souveniers 9what did you soend on souveniers per child?)

Thanks in adavance for the help!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

First I wanted to tell you that your hair looks great!!!!:goodvibes

You are right about the parking. Your buttons gets you free parking at all the parks except for Universal and Islands of Adventure, there you will have 2 voucher passes for free parking.

With the dinner theater, that would be the ones you mentioned. The wish child is free and they will give you 50% off for the rest of your party. We didn't do any of them, but when you get your Bunny Book it will be in there.

Some of the things I can't help you with but I can tell you that the Wish Child gets thier face painted for free at the parks!! It was great! We only had to pay for our daughter then!

As for gas we only used 1 tank while we were there. The parks aren't far. We also noticed that gas was cheaper in Orlando!!!:cool1:

Souvieners~we just let the kids pick out something from each park. I think itjust depends on whatyour kids are into as for price. I think we budgeted 50.00 a day for both of them. This was for pins too.

I hope some of this helps!! Let me know if you have any other questions!! Also, could you sneak me in your luggage? I want to go back!!! I promise I don't eatmuch!!!:flower3:

Amber-your hair looks great

We met with our wish granters on Monday night and my dd told them she wanted a Disney Cruise. They said those are really hard to get, they will look into it but dd said she wanted a caribbean cruise regardless so most likely we will be going on royal caribbean. Even though it is not a Disney wish I thought I would let you know what I found out. I was wondering, after you first met with the wish granters, how long before you heard back with the dates and details? I am such a trip planner that it is killing me to know I have a trip coming up and can't plan at all because I don't know where we will be going or when. Thanks for all your help. This is such a great place for MAW info, even if not a Disney wish.

Hey Amber ~
I'm wondering if the parking is for the airport? I know some people have been given limos, but others just drove themselves to the airport and parked.
Did you get your itinerary too? I'm on pins and needles waiting for ours!!

question?
we are still waiting for the doctor to sign the papers he signed the first set he should sign the trip ones right:confused3
the wish granter only come if they are sure he will get a wish (the kids would be so upset if they can't go now)

I can only speak from personal experience:
I refered my DD for a wish, I then had to send papers to MAW giving them the right to approach our specialist for his official referral.
Our Doctor signed and faxed them back the same day he received them.
When Rebecca officially met her MAW volunteers and asked for Disney world MAW again had to approach the doctor to ask whether the actual trip and wish would be doable medically. The Doctor agreed immediately.
We were told at this time the doctor is again approached just a few days before the trip to make sure nothing has happened medically in the meantime to veto the trip.

The second set is to verify that the wish child can travel. And yes, he should sign them to! No worries!

We are still waiting and met with our wish granters a little over a month ago with no word from them.

Our doctor we found out got his paperwork late last week. It took a month to get to them. They supposedly signed and faxed back so hopefully we will be hearing something soon.

I'm back!! I have attempted to update the first page. Please pm me with any corrections. I will never go without internet again! Ugh! What a pain in the pattootie!! I am so happy to be back and cannot wait to "meet" everyone.

Update on us. We are going to Disney in under a month!! The January trip was just not going to work for us as it would have been a $1000 more then then in December. We have free dining and we are so excited!! We will be celebrating Danae's fifth birthday. Michael can't wait to ride the roller coasters because he's finally 44 inches (with shoes on)! He is doing well. He currently sees four therapists a week, physical therapy twice a week, occupational therapy twice a week and speech therapy twice a week (two of his therapists co-treat). He's making some huge strides. We will be adding a vision therapist next year. Now we go into the winter season and cross our fingers that we don't catch any respiratory stuff. I am not in any mood to travel with oxygen on our trip!

Now my biggest worries are figuring out health insurance for next year and what are we going to wear to Disney and where are we going to eat there?! LOL

I missed you guys terribly and can't wait to see what everyone is up to so all you lurkers, all you post wish trippers, update me!!
