Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

Well the came and we forgot to take pictures. Rats. Mya was quite shy at first, but then I had her show them her room. That opened the gates of conversation and she was all talkative then. We spoke with John while Paula started asking Mya about her wish. I was surprised she never once mentioned Hannah Montanah but talked about how cool it would be to hang out with Arial and her princess friends. Surprised none of y'all said anything about the paperwork, I thought I was buying a new home. While we did that Paula and Mya played and talked. She stated that she really enjoy's Arial because she is a Mermaid AND a Princess. The other's are just Princesse's. She also thinks it's cool that Arial wants to walk, I think this is her same desire. She does walk, but it is with assitance of braces and she has a staggard gate that is noticable by others.

Well they said they would get back to us with details. They asked about dates and we are flexable our only concern would be not to miss out on getting Aidan's Trach removed or interupting his Feading Therapy of we get into a new program, but we can work around that. Guess it's just time to sit back and read about everyone else until we learn more.

lol.. that is funny. Yeah the paperwork is a killer! We have found that even when we thought we were done we are still filling things out. Twice they have had to drop forms off for us to fill out.

Wow! We're less than 3 weeks away!!!

I hope some of you have some ideas for me. The boys have enjoyed pin trading in the past, but I think they really want to keep everything in the fairly small collections they have built up over our 2 Disney trips. I thought about buying them some pins for their birthday, or as a kickoff for the Wish Trip. Any ideas on how to purchase some good tradeables to boost their pin collections? Of course, this may be impacted by the fact that we are in Canada and either it's too expenseive or takes too long to ship. If I wait until we get to Orlando, any suggestions on where to get pins - I know about the spots in the parks and Magic of Disney at DTD. I don't want to spend a fortune...

Thanks everyone!
Alison

Hello! Now here's a specific question for you. I am definitely not known for doing laundry while on vacation, but given that there is laundry right inside the villas AND the boys are definitely planning on wearing their Big Give shirts more than once, I'm giving it a whirl. I do live in a house of light sleepers, though, while I am the night owl (too many years of staying up to flush Mark's g-tube at night!).

So: where is the laundry actually located in the villa's? Are they quiet? Will they wake up my sleeping beauties or do I need to plan to get the laundry done while they are still awake?

Yup, planning, planning, planning...

Thanks!
Alison

We purchased from MousePinsOnline.com three years ago and all of their stuff traded just fine. Some real traders don't like it, but it was inexpensive and traded fine with the CM's. They sell grab bags for like 1.75 a pin. Some people go the Ebay route, but I have heard of some getting burned with fakes and junk.

I love pin trading and Mya is looking forword to doing that as well again.

So win do people start pre-trip reports?

I was also wondering has anyone done the Princess and Pirate Party? I'm thinking about asking MAW to plan our trip around one of those.

The villa we stayed in the washer & dryer were in the hallway just outside the bedrooms .They're about as quiet as a washer & dryer will ever get ! I did my laundry in the AM .It takes us a good 2 hours to get ready for the day so I utilized that time by doing laundry also

I was going to suggest http://www.Mousepinsonline.com, but I see that Macntosh has already suggested that! My other suggestion would be to go to one of the Disney Outlet stores, there are two official Disney ones, then one non official not so nice one. The official ones are called Character Warehoue and Character Premiere. One is in the Orlando Premium Outlet Center, right near Disney, if you are on I-4, take exit #68. The other is in the outlet mall that is at the very end of International Drive. It use to be Belz, but I don't remember what they changed it to. The non Disney not as nice one is in Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. We've gotten pins at the outlest for as low as .99, but they are usually around $4 =/-

I had a Marathon day of shopping with my three kids today! We left at 9:00 a.m. and got home at 4:30. Columbus Day sales! I got a lot of the clothes Chritmas shopping done and got the requisite dressy holiday outfits from the Children's Place with my super coupon...all matching of course!

I'm getting a little worried about being overwhelmed these next two months. We've got Halloween and the three parties associated with it. I'm Room Mom for both kids preschool classes and on the party commitee for my MOMS Club and neighborhood parent's club. Then in November we have Sebastian's MAW send off patry on the 22nd, Savannah's Baptism and Reception on the 23rd, then we're hosting Thanksgiving, my annual Cookie Exchange on the 30th then we leave for Disney on December 6th.

See why I'm Chrsitmas shopping now?!

I can't beleive how quickly I fall behind on this thread...and this is really my only thread! I read everyone's trip reports but this is home base :)

Welcome Matthew!! Glad to have you join us! I swear you'll never feel closer to a group of people you've never met before!

I also miss Bill! His info was where I started! His trip reposrt and essays about Disney were the first Wish Trip stuff I ever really found on this great vast internet.

Then I met all you wonderful folks! Lots of love tonight!:goodvibes

I did it! I started a Pre-trip Report..

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=28150528#post28150528

I hope I did it okay.

I'll have to come and check it out! :) I'm sure you did great! :thumbsup2

We had a meeting today with our Wish volunteers again and again they are soooo awesome! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Nick offically got his dates that he is going to Disney World! They gave him a certificate that said.. congratulations, Nicholas, your wish to go to Disney World will be granted on Jan 19th - 25th 2009! Only three more months to wait.. they said to start packing now! :rotfl2:

Then they said that they do a going away party but wanted to know, since Nick loves airplanes, if we wanted to spend the night at the Strategic Air Museum and get VIP access to everything there! UMMMMM.. let me think??? YES!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I mean seriously? How awesome is that?

I will be doing a pre-trip report soon, I am off a couple of days this week but tomorrow the kids are out of school and we are going on a field trip with church to a sheep farm to learn how to be shepards.

That's SO AWESOME that you've got your dates!! It makes it seem even more real doesn't it? :woohoo: And the party sounds like lots of fun!! :yay: I hope you had fun with all the sheep. ;)

:cool1: Very ool!!!! Yes, the paperwork is a killer! I hadn't signed my name so many times since we bought our house!!! :rotfl:
Only three monhts? Better get crackin' on those lists!!!!:lmao: I think for our last trip (family tirp to WDW planned before DD was dx) it took me 6 months to pack!!!!! I'm a little obsessive though.... :rolleyes1

OMG! That is adorable!!! how did you do that??

Denise (bigdisgrandma) did a really great tutorial in her trip report. She has two uber adorable grand daughters who like to wear their hair in these signature styles. She did the tutorial for "the Gabby" but Siennah at two doesn't have enough hair for the "Gabby" so I went ahead and gave the "Karlyn" a shot :)
