Have a great time!!! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!!!:cheer2:

I have been reading this trip report, can you say OMG! I'm getting super excited. Can you believe the Big Give? I was shocked on that one. I haven't seen it anywhere else. I'm spending today reading reports, I'm usually trying to figure out what to do but to day I'm posting the plan! Or at least what I hope will be the plan. If anyone needs anything while we're gone pm b4 we go! I've got 20-postcards to send while we are there mostly wish kids. I think that will be a fun kick off!I'm meeting one of the disboutiquers while Denny and Dill are off doing boy stuff. And bigdisgramma and fam I get to spend some time with! Dilly knows exactly who he want s to see now.
Robbie is going to come down with my brother for a day or two. I really don't think he will be feeling it but I could be wrong! Well keep up on the PTR's they are so much fun to read!

I am not sure if you can request a table by the tank or not. When they open the park you can go right to the podium outside and make your reservation.I would ask then, it certainly could not hurt to try!

Has anyone done the dining with Shamu?

Hank wants to do it but because you can't pick your seat I am worried that we will be in the back row. What do you all know about it? Is it to late to make a ressie and get a good table?

I don't like the fact that you have to pre-pay too. What happens if Hank isn't doing well?

We did it and loved it. There really isn't much of a back row since they limit how many people are there. The sooner you sign up, the more likely to get beside the tank. If I remember correctly the furthest away you would be is 2 tables. Double check and call but I think you can cancel if needed without losing your money. Someone is always wanting to attend. Karen

I can't getoff my "here we come Disney" high!!!:rotfl2: :cool1: :woohoo:

Isn't that the best :) We are on that high here too

MVMCP does not technically start until 7 pm, so if your ADR is at 4:05, you will not only *not* waste MVMCP time, but you will probably finish early. Generally they herd all the people for MVMCP over into tomorrowland whilst they clear the park of everybody else. If you "linger" over dinner, you may even avoid being 'herded', lol. That's always been our strategy.

What time do they start to "herd" the people? We can't get reservations for the night we're doing MVMCP. Will there be other places we can just walk up to eat?

They have another single in the closet that can be unfolded, and the living room couch makes into a double or queen (not sure which), so that's how the villas sleep seven. The hideaway couch bed wasn't very comfortable, though, so you'd probably want to put the youngest two there. We ended up not using it and letting the twins sleep together in a twin. We have six in our family.

That's good to know. I'm sure Ryan will sleep with us. He still comes into our bed each night/early morning.

I am a GKTW volunteer. The villas are built in pairs, side by side, with a connecting wall (like a duplex). In many of the buildings, there is a connecting door. These can be used as a "double villa" for larger families, who then occupy both villas. I'm sure they do something similar if you must stay off property in a hotel.
That is cool. I don't think our family is big enough for two villas. We were told we will be in one villa and my mom will need to book her own hotel room. If we stayed off site then my mom could stay with us because we would already necessitate two rooms.

Well guys the time has come to say FAREWELL!!!!:cheer2: The limo will be here in an hour and we are having some lunch! I think I packed everything but the kitchen sink and I am sure I left something out!

YAY!! Have a great time

Have fun reading PTRs/TRs! They are so much fun to read. How sweet of you to be sending postcards!!!

...and be sure you show off your MAW/GKTW button. That couldn't hurt, either!!

At park closing.

Counter service. All sit downs will be booked solid in advance. We like cosmic Rays. If we don't have a PS for early table service we tend to like hot dogs at Casey's upon arrival, and Cosmic Rays later in the evening when we start to wear out.

I was just wondering how everyone had a pre trip party planned out? Our MAW person just told me that we would receive our information 1-2 weeks before going and they will bring it to our house. I am not trying to be selfish but I would like to have a little something fun when we get all of the news and I really don't want to clean up our house for company..lol It took me weeks just to get the house ready when they came to interview Victor for the wish.

Hank's wish is through Dreams Come True in Jacksonville, FL. (Has anyone else been through them?) We were told through our dream coordinator that about a week before the trip they will have a party at the office and Hank will be presented with his dream!! And we will get to meet his sponsors!!!

They have told us that family and friends are more then welcome to come to the party!!!

Hmmmm.......maybe we will call back and take the split reservations they had. We couldn't get more than 3 at a table

We were told his party would be a week to 10 days before we leave. Drew could pick a restaurant to have his party at and we would need to limit it to 10 people or we could choose to have an unlimited party here at home

We did our own party. The Make a wish coordinators made arrangments to come over to our house about two weeks before we left.We decided to make it into a party and it was at our expense. The make a wish people brought a cake, balloons and some gifts.I really think depends on your organization and how you feel about it as a family.

Thank you so much. That worked :)

Yes, you should. They will make every effort to put you close to each other or even together should the opportunity arise.

Hi Friends! By some miracle all three of my kids are napping right now at the same time! WOHOO!!! I should be napping too but I wanted to check in!I can't believe I am 4 pages behind on this thread. I'm glad I did so much reading and planning while I was pregant because now days "sleep" trumps "Disney." ;)

I did get two more packages in the mail this week to Becca and Alison's kids :) The trip to the post office was my first outing with all three kids in tow and let's just say it did not go well. Siennah crumpled up some change of address forms, Sebastian closed a partition and they both kept opening and closing empty P.O. boxes...the Post office ladies gave me the dirtiest looks. :(

All in all though we are doing good. :goodvibes I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have three sweet babies now!

Amy and Heather WELCOME HOME!!!...I've so enjoyed reading your trip reports. Thanks for giving me something to do while nursing. :)

Denise, Misty and Chrissie I'm so excited for ya'll to head out on your trips! :dance3: I can't wait to see all of your pictures in your Big Give customs!

Welcome Deanna and Janel! If you have not already please send me your snail mail address so I can send you a pixie dust packet of travel goodies.

Anyone else miss Bill? I do!

and finally...A HUGE THANK YOU to Carol and her boys who sent us another amazing package! Ya'll are AWESOME and so thoughtful! The timing worked out so perfectly. The day we got home from the hospital with Savannah the package was waiting for us. Sebastian and Siennah were thrilled to pieces to be getting some pixie dust in the mail too and it made them feel special in the midst of all the baby excitment:) I will post some pictures in my PTR soon. Thanks so much for thinking of us Carol!

Hi everyone,
I've been gone a day or two. We took my MIL home to Burley, ID and went to my husband's 40th high school reunion. I know, we are old...but those other people looked lots older than we did I think. I teased Mike and said that he was old but I wasn't because I am 16 mths younger than he is.:rotfl:
Any way, it was fun. We went to the county fair there and to a rodeo yesterday and then had a fun barbecue this afternoon. We then had the long drive home...3 1/2 hours. I watched and Mike listened to DVD's while we drove.

Anyway, I saw the question about MAW "going away" partys. We are really lucky here in Utah because MAW has a beautiful building called the Wishing Place. They try to have the children come there to make their wish and then come for the farewell party. Because of timing, we did both partys at one time. Lindsey and Bryan received all their paperwork, information, and everything at the party so they have everything they need for the trip from MAW. There are pictures of Karlyn's wish party on my PTR. We had more than 50 people at Karlyn's party. However, 27 of those were just Mike & I and our children and grandchildren:scared1: I know what you are thinking and yes I am glad I have a big yard and enough space for everyone to come home for Thanksgiving dinner but I have been known to resort to paper plates and plastic utensils:rotfl2:

But, I think each organization has their own traditions and practices. For example, Karlyn and family will not be riding in a limo to the airport but they do pay for long term parking while they are gone. Just know that whatever your group and your family does, it will help you to make memories that will last forever.

Denise

Hello Everyone! :)

This is my first post on this thread, but I have been lurking for a few weeks now. :) I have read a lot of trip reports and am overwhelmed by all of the information!

I think I would like to do a trip report...but I have no idea how to start one? Do I just post a new thread??

I am a family friend/nursing assistant to my friend, Lauren. She has been granted a Wish to go to DW and we are all going in October. She is 15, has CP, uses a wheelchair to get around, is very bright (has practically straight A's in high school) and is SOOO excited about Disney World!

In addition, Lauren has been invited to fly on the American Airlines WishFlight! Which we are really excited about!

Anyway...We refer to me as "not-the-momma"... but Lauren's Mom is way to busy to write a TR...although she does enjoy reading them. :) So...I have volunteered to do the honors. :) but I have no idea where to put one? :confused3

Can you guys help me figure it out :)

Thanks! And I am looking forward to getting to know you guys. :cool1:

:) mary (aka: Maroo)
