A bit fed up. I was given a pool room view, which was the only type of room available when I booked over 6 months ago. I asked on check in last night if they had another type of room available instead as I knew it would be noisy (fair enough) and they said no. So trying to have an afternoon nap to catch up on having very little sleep over the last 48 hours of traveling etc is near impossible.
I was happy to have a cheaper room and not get a refund or anything.
Pardon my knackered old lady grumpiness, just needed to vent. Had a terrific morning in MK though.

The clue was when you booked, the fact that so little was available suggests your resort is likely pretty full. That said, next time keep checking for other view categories to open during the 6 months before you arrive, that strategy may work better than asking for a move at check in these days.
Hope you can rearrange your schedule to be out of your room during the worst of any pool noise, and/or after a decent rest it won’t be so annoying, or perhaps you’ll decide to join in :)

I think the thing to keep in mind as well is that while you were willing to downgrade, that means bumping someone from let’s say a standard/garden room to the pool view room. I know that’s something I wouldn’t want. Lots of people would choose standard or garden over pool view in order to avoid the noise.

I get you are just venting but really, this one is a bit OTT.
Venting because you got the room you booked? I mean I hope you knew when you went in that was probably what you'd get.
Next time, since the odds are very high that you will get exactly what you book, try some ear plugs. They really work great.
Or, a noise app on your phone.

They can only move you to what's available. If all that was available was a pool view when you booked then it's quite possible that only a pool view room was available when you checked in.

Clothespin the curtains closed, get some ear plugs, try a sleep mask. That's about all I can offer as a solution to this.

You’re fed up because you got the room you booked?:confused3
Yes I like to ask for upgrades once I get to wdw. But if I end up in the room I book. I’m 110% happy. I think the OP is complaining about absolutely nothing. Just ridiculous. I’m hoping it was a joke. Lol

If you are really miserable, ask about availability of standard rooms at other resorts. We moved once when we weren’t feeling our resort and it improved everyone’s mood immediately.

Man, this thread was not what I thought it was going to be. Thought it was stuff guests would like to see in their resort rooms like more usb outlets/plugs.

I wasn't expecting this either.

OP, when we have trouble with noise we use our headphones and listen to fan noise on Youtube. I'm a light sleeper so I usually need some kind of noise going. Sometimes Dh will just play it out loud on his phone if we don't want to wear earplugs

Me neither, I’m thinking she is just super exhausted and that was the main reason for the vent. I get that, I had a delayed night flight last time I went and got in super late. Room was great but statue of Donald and friend not too far out my door so guess who got an early morning wake up. Every time a kid past there was yelling. Definitely understand why they weren’t able to switch your room, but just wanted to stop by and say I feel your pain with the noise making it tough to sleep.

Exactly what do you want them to listen to?
You booked a pool view room and you knew that was all that was available at the time of booking.
Its not Disney's fault that you booked a pool view nor is it their fault that when you asked if there was anything else they said there was not.
I personally would have booked somewhere else if the room category that I wanted was not available.
In recent trips I have also brought along a small fan which really helps.

I have to ask, what were they not listening to? You booked a pool view room and got a pool view room. You wanted to move but there was no availability to move to. SO how is that a WDW listening problem? I always advise people to book what they will be happy with, and that sometimes means you need to consider a different resort the room category at your chosen is nto what you are going to be okay with. There is never a guarantee Disney will move you to a better location once you arrive.

I think that's the issue that made this OTT for me too. I get venting, truly do. But to go so far as to say Disney is not listening to their guests, which is putting this on Disney and saying they are at fault in some way, is taking it a step too far.
Vent away but don't blame Disney for doing anything wrong. Heavens they do enough wrong. This one isn't on them.

This has nothing to do with Disney being at fault or not listening. You got the room category you booked and are dissatisfied. Disney didn’t do anything wrong. I understand the parks are very crowded this week as my son is there.

There is probably no place to move you to and “asking for an upgrade” is not good advice. Put on white noise on your phone-

To complain about what you got expecting Disney to “listen” to their guests when Disney listened and gave you what you booked is absurd. You have what you booked and paid for-
