Let me get serious for a little bit. We all can't be like Zola Budd or the young Ethiopian runners who can perform at world class levels in bare feet. We NEED to wear sneakers AND SOCKS to reach our goal of the finish line. Each pledge gets us a little closer to having socks that will show the distance event world that although we compete as individuals all over the country, we are also part of a TEAM.

You can order an extra pair to donate to your favorite running charity. The inspirational WISH message could also mean a lot to those who are not runners. These socks would make a great Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, Birthday,Graduation or "just thinking of you" gift. So please pledge now while the internet and the DIS board are up and running.

Denny- Good to hear from you. How did the move go?

The reason I've been off the boards is due to all of the turmoil of this move. We've bought a house in SC; we've sold our house in OH; and we move next week. The movers come Mon, load the truck Wed. Then we drive Thursday, and move in on Friday and Saturday. I can't wait until this is over.
I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel (I just hope its not another move.. er, I mean train. )

But Captain -- We're doing the best that we can. The dilithium chrystals are starting to deteriorate .... Oh wait, that's Star Trek, not Star Wars (sorry SWDave). Everyone, "use the Force" to keep the sock numbers climbing. We don't want to have to face the dark side and potentially a Death Star without our special WISH socks to show everyone that we stand, walk, wog, jog and/or run together.
