Wish someone told me...

Sooo we upgraded our 5 day parkhoppers (on our last day since it was blackout time for our Deluxe passes) to AP's on our last visit. The woman who helped us told me to add my AP number onto my account when I got home so I can receive the AP emails with offers. WELL I am trying to add my new AP number and guess what? It wont take it, because I don't have my picture associated with my AP card yet. The woman who helped me said to just take the photo the next time we come to the park (which is planned for June). If I had known this, I would have run over to the turnstile that night and taken all of our photos! I am so annoyed right now. I called and apparently there is nothing that can be done.

Figured I would post this for others out there like me. Anyone know of other ways I can find out the AP specials without getting the emails?

I'm not an AP holder.

If you have dates in mind, you can ask here. I have seen threads where people are asking if someone can check AP rates for them.

Hmmm...dh bought my AP in Nov (& it was activated). I wasn't with him, so my photo wasn't added until I actually used it in Dec. however, I had no problem adding it to my acct online & getting emails.

You can ask here and you can also keep an eye on the usual information sources, including the Disneyland AP Facebook account. That being said, I haven't found that there really is all that much information that is exclusively released to AP holders. There are occasional special events/activities, but those are often invitation only and only for a very specific group of AP holders (usually the ones with APs expiring around that point in time).

For me, having the AP registered the site gives access to the Hotel Rates and Availability calendar, but all other parts of the site seem open to the public. AP holders can often purchase tickets for MHP in advance, but that won't be until late-summer (after you've gone back).

I had the date a little wrong - last year tickets went on sale to AP holders in mid-July (7/16), with the announcement being made in early July. If you get back to DLR in June, you'll be fine. Either way, I would still call and see if they can help you.
