Hey everyone
So I'd had on my list of 'life goals' for about 10 years to run a 10k. I did it in May but I didn't train much for it and know I could have done better than I did. I did find the running to be somewhat addictive, though, and have now decided to work away at it with a goal of half-marathon by this fall or next spring and hoping to do Disney Marathon in 2011. I wnat to train to have good 10K times/half times for corral. I'm working away at my training, doing a 10K at least 3x a week and slowly improving times/distances.
I am a pronator (sp?). I always found Adidas shoes to be best for my pronating. Got a new pair at the end of April but they didn't have as good support in the arch as I need. Then I got some orthotics for them, but I find those rub against my foot and I get big blisters. At the end of my 10, my legs and lungs feel good, it's my feet that are killling me. Any suggestions for brands/styles of footwear or ways to keep these orthotics from digging in to my feet when I run? Thanks!
Oh, and glad to find other Disney runners. Looking forward to hearing about all your runs in the Most Magical Place on Earth.
