After 16 years working with a high street bank, I have left to start up as a self employed commercial finance broker.

Whilst I am convinced it is the right thing to do, the lack of a monthly pay packet is a bit daunting!

Matt

good luck matt :thumbsup2 being self-employed is great :) the only downside to me is the lack of stability money wise, hope it all goes well :)

I knew there was something you weren't telling me. ;)

Good luck, darling. Hurry up and make your first million and then I can become a kept woman. :teeth:

All the best Matt, hope everything goes well for you.

Never mind Deb, remember your good friends when you make your first million! :thumbsup2
I think you can get lots of beer for £1,000,000. Except in London where it will only get you 15 pints. :rotfl2:

Kev

Thanks for the good wishes folks.

Kev, bad news is that we have to be a bit more economical at the moment. So, at the weekend, could you bring your own food, drink, candles and water? Also, the trip in October is still at reunion, but in an 8 man tent!

Seriously though, you can rest assured that as soon as I make my first million, I'll buy you a half.

See you at the weekend.

Matt, not sure what a self-employed commercial finance broker actually does but best of luck anyway :goodvibes

Looking forward to seeing you all in October. If things are a bit tight, I'm sure we could stretch to buying you a pint...of water :teeth:

Best of luck, i hope its picks up quickly for you :)

Basically Joh, I find people and organisations who want to buy premises on a commercial basis (ranging from residential buy-to-let houses to factories or hotels and everything in between) and find them the best possible deal from banks, building soceities and other lenders. Most people are unsure how to package up finance requests, where to go and how to deal with lenders, and this where I come in. Also, many lenders keep their best rates secret!

I see you've been taking lessons at the Kevin Stringer school of generosity ;)

Good Luck :thumbsup2

hope it all goes well for you :wizard:

Thanks for the explanation. Is this on a huge basis then or would you deal with people who just wanted to buy 1 house to let, for example? And what about foreign investments? Just checking in case you could be of some help to us when investing DH's redundancy pay ;)

He taught me everything he knows :rotfl: It would be iced water, of course ;)

Good lucky Matt, not that you'll need it, I'm sure :thumbsup2

After 18 years as PR Manager for one of your high street banking rivals, I bit the dust and left and (aside from severe lack of finance ;) ) have never looked back.

Being your own boss is a good thing, enjoy it all.

Good luck to you, Deb and the girls :cool1:

Good luck in your new self-employed status!

Never mind Kev's beer - here's hoping you can keep Deb in champagne ;)

We only deal with UK lenders, but, that is sort of the point, if someone was looking for something a bit unusual, then I would look at what options are out there, it's all down to structuring it properly. As far as size is concerned, anything from 1 up, after all, if if it works with 1 property, why stop there! ;) ;)

He taught me everything he knows
I bet that was the hardest 30 seconds of your life!
