For those of you on the fence, going solo to Disney doesn't "suck". Quite the opposite.
The interesting thing about trips to Disney is how it is different depending upon who you're with, or if you're on your own. Over the years, I've loved going with all kinds of family and friends: physically restricted older adults, infants, toddlers, school age, teenagers, just with the wife, extended family, co-workers and various combinations of the above.
One year, I was at a work conference at the Swan/Dolphin and it worked out that if I stayed over the weekend, I'd save enough on airfare that my company was willing to let me stay down an extra night or two. Bought my park ticket and I had a couple days solo. Loved it.
Since then, I've mixed in a solo trip just about every year in March, usually somewhere between 4 and 6 days, in addition to the family trips at other irregular points of the year. I find it very relaxing; I get up when I want, do what I want, etc. I tend to go on the cheap on my solo trips...usually offsite with a car and don't do table service onsite. Just personal preference; I'm heard of and seen many taking advantage of table service establishments.
It's also fun sometimes chatting it up with cast members when visiting solo...especially with the kids from World Showcase that are so far from home.
My main point is to encourage you to experience it. You won't regret it. Looking forward to the next trip...March 9 is sneaking up.
