Wish I had a ROFR crystal ball

We signed a contract for 150 OKW pts at the seller's asking price of $70 per point. There are all 150 2009 points that can be banked, and all 150 2010 points coming late in the year. We are paying 2010 MFs and splitting closing costs with the seller. I know Disney can't always be predicted with ROFR, but any guesses on the chances of our contract passing ROFR?

We are not currently DVC members and I am worried that maybe we should have offered a little more per point for that reason, and also because the contract contains all 2009 points. Then again I don't see many OKW sales at over $70 a point and many pass for less than $70 per point.

This waiting is going to kill me. :) Fingers doubled crossed!

I have done a lot of add-ons, so I know the angst you are feeling. For what it is worth, I think you are very likely to pass ROFR. Disney has a lot of inventory to sell right now because of the weak economy and they probably don't need to buy more OKW points. Good luck! Hope that we are giving you the official 'Welcome Home" very soon! :cheer2:

You aren't the only one agonizing right now! If you find that crystal ball, let me know! I am just starting the second time waiting through ROFR.

There have been some crazy low price/pt getting passed lately! I think $70 at OKW for 150 sounds very very passable. But without that crystal ball no one knows for sure what Disney will do...:lmao:

I just bid $76/pt on 175 BWVpts, only 54 '09 pts and then all 175 starting in Oct. Really hoping to get it through this time...I want to plan our Sept/Oct trip with POINTS! (although I do have a 40% off PIN just in case it doesn't work out :thumbsup2)

Good luck! :goodvibes

At $70 for a 2042 OKW the chance of disney buying it back is very low, you can relax.

I think you have an 86% chance of making it through ROFR.

Your Broker is the best source for ROFR info because they deal with Disney every day.

What do they say?

I bet you'll pass, but waiting sure stinks doesn't it? Good Luck and PixieDust to you!

We bought 200 OKW points in the fall with '08, '09 and '10 points included for $65 a point. We even had the sellers pay half of the '10 maintenance fees and it passed ROFR. Hopefully, yours will pass also.

Good luck! Maybe we'll cross paths this fall... it's our favorite time to visit WDW.

Thanks for the reassurance. I did discuss ROFR with the broker but it is nice to hear from others that we will likely pass. And if it doesn't there are lots of other contracts out there and eventually it will work our for us. I just want it now, though! :)

Tom Petty was right -- the waiting is the hardest part! I do believe your odds are excellent however. Hang in there! :goodvibes
