Wish I could have the ship's horn for my cell phone ring.....

Ok, I am both computer and cell phone challenged!

I have a Nokia 3595...can I input the horn tones?

It would drive my co-workers crazy, as they all think I'm "Disney Obsessed" already!

Help!

I, too, am computer and cell phone challenged. I would LOVE it soooooo much to have it as my ring tone on my Samsung SCH-A310 cell phone. Is it possible PhotoLisa? I would be forever indebted if you can help me!!!!! By the way, happy belated birthday! Maybe one by one I can accomplish this. I would also love it to play on the computer. Didn't someone say that it is possible when it turns on and Microsoft is setting up??? Wouldn't that be cool!!! My DD and I would die for this.

What about a Nokia? I have a Nokia 3390 and would love to get this on my phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is so cool - I would love it on my phone too - I have a Qualcomm 3G CDMA model VX1. I am not very adept at this stuff but I have been known to be able to follow instructions.

Thanks you in advance for your assistance.

Do you have the number sequence for the Motorola T730???

I would LOVE to have the horn as my tone!!

Thanks for your help!!

Nokia polyphonic phones I have no luck with. Can't figure those out. Qualcomm - can't access that phone. SORRY!!!

Here are the others that have been asked for:

Samsung A300 series[.B}

Key press sequence for Samsung A300 / A308:

588 5 4 3 1^ 2 6 > 788 7 6 5 4^ 5 18 > 28 18 7 6 5 4 3 2 6 > 788 > 5

Storing the tone on your Samsung phone

To add this ringtone to your phone, press the 'Menu' button, then '3', then '2' to access the melody composer. Choose a position for your new ringtone and press select, you will then be shown a musical score. Use the top left button to select 'Edit', and if you have any musical notes showing on the display, press and hold 'c' to clear them to make way for your new ring tone.

Now you can enter the key press sequence shown above. Where you see <, >, ^, and v, these represent the arrow buttons on your handset.

When you have finished use the top left menu button again to listen to your new ringtone, and save it to your handset if you like what you hear.

Nokia Phones that are newer and use “composer”

Locate your phones ringtone composer, then enter the following key press sequence into your phone (ignore the spaces).

5 < # 0 < 7 < 0 < # 6 < # 2 < # 3 < # 4 < # 5 < # 6 < # 7 < # 1 < ## 2 < ## 0 < ## 1 < ## 5 < # [4] < # 5 < # 6 < # 7 < # 7 < 0 < # 6 < # 2 < # [1] < # 3 < # 4 < # 5 < # 5 <

The tempo for this tone should be set to : 150

Storing the tone on your Nokia phone

To enter this code into your Nokia phone first locate the ringtone composer (located in the 'Extras' folder on recent handsets), the select 'Options', then 'New tone'. A blank musical staff will be shown.

Now simply press the keys on your phone in the order shown above. Where you see < or > press the centre scroll button left or right as appropriate. Where you see a number in square brackets (for example [3]), press the small pencil key at the same time as the number key to enter a sharp note.

When you have finished press 'Options' to play your tone, adjust its tempo or to finally save it to your phone.

Nokia – older that use “composer”
Locate your phones ringtone composer, then enter the following key press sequence into your phone (ignore the spaces).

5 5* 4 3 1# 2 6 0 7** 7* 6 5 4# 5 1* 0 2 1 7** 6 5 4 3 2 6 0 7** 0 5*

The tempo for this tone should be set to : 150

Storing the tone on your Nokia phone

To enter this code into your Nokia phone first locate the ringtone composer (on some models you press the 'Menu' button, then 5, then 4, then 1, on others press 'Menu', then 9, then 3). The current composition will be shown (if any).

Clear the current notes if required by holding down the 'c' key, then simply press the keys on your phone in the order shown above, holding down the preceeding key where you see (hold) for a second.

When you have finished press 'Options' to play your tone, adjust its tempo or to finally save it to your phone.

Nokia binary format phones (you’ll have to look in your manual to see what you have for ringtone capability)

As this is a large ringtone, you need to send two text messages each starting with //SCKL1581 as shown below...

//SCKL15811581990201 06050415810000024A3A5911A5CDB995E404004D20930851841641541241341A410424E2147106

//SCKL15811581990202 906105D0610B22820826822851C41A41841641541341A410424E208214610000

To add this ringtone to a Nokia phone without a composer you need to send the ringtone to the phone as an SMS message.

You can either do this by typing the binary code shown above into your phone as a text message, and sending it to yourself, or some network providers have web based sms gateways you can use.

It is quite important you get the code exactly right, we recommend you print it before entering it into your handset.
There is a space character after the initial //SCKL1581, then no more spaces in the whole ringtone. All letters are always uppercase.

If you send the ringtone through a web gateway you may find the gateway add text to the end of the message, limiting to number of characters you can send. If this is the case, try sending a shorter ringtone.

The Nokia binary format is tested and works with 6xxx and 7xxx series phones. Nokia 5xxx and 8xxx phones may work subject to the firmware and network you are on. If you are unsure simply try the demo to see if it works for you.

Motorolla T720

4 2222 00 5 4 2222 00 5 333 2222 00 5 33 2222 00 5 000 222 # 2222 00 5 3 2222 00 5 2 # 2222 722 # 2222 00 5 22 # 2222 00 5 2 # 2222 00 5 4 2222 00 5 000 333 2222 00 5 4 2222 00 6 222 # 2222 700 6 3 2222 00 6 222 # 2222 00 5 22 # 2222 00 5 2 # 2222 00 5 4 2222 00 5 333 2222 00 5 33 2222 00 5 3 2222 00 5 2 # 2222 722 # 2222 700 5 4 2222

Storing the tone on your Motorola T720 phone

To enter this code into your T720 phone, press the top middle menu button and select the picture of the TV with a musical note in it (top left).

A new menu will appear, scroll down and select 'My Tones', then scroll down and select '[New Tone]'.

Finally, select 'Change' to enter the note editor. Now, type in the key sequence above to program the new tone into your phone. Press the keys in the order shown, and ignore what is appearing on your phones display.

Hope this helps to give you that special tone you're looking for!!

PhotoLisa -

Thanks for trying on the qualcomm. I may just have to print this out and take it to the phone store and buy a new phone - LOL

Thank you so much Lisa. You are the greatest, now I can enjoy the ship everytime my phone rings.

I'm glad that I could bring a little extra joy to your day!

I'm just trying to give back to the forum that has done so much to enlighten me!

Hi Lisa,

Do you know if I can use anything that you posted here for a Sony Ericsson T616 phone?

Thanks!

Renee':

I looked that one up and it uses Polyphonic Ringtones and requires special software. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that one.

:(

Hi Photolisa

What about Motorola I90c (from NExtel)?

On the Nextel i90c, it appears that you cannot program in your own ringtone - it must be downloaded from their website.

I could be wrong but that is the info I was able to find in the user manual.

:( Thanks for the info :( I'm just sorry it won't work. I will just have to take a picture of the ship in Dec. to use as a screensaver on my phone.

I now have it on my phone with much thanks to Lisa, but now I am trying to do it for my mom because she is so disappointed that we havent been able to get the tone on her phone. She has a Samsung Sch/A310, and I am not sure if she has a melody composer. I looked all last night for one and read in the manuel but nothing was stated? She is a Verizon customer, can we download it from them? Thank you for all of your help.

How about a Verizon Qualcomm 3G CDMA? Would love to have the ship's horn as my ringtone!! Cathie

Lisa, I think of you every time I get a phone call. Thanks again. Enjoy your cruise! plutojudy
