I just wanted to give a quick recap of my gluten free/allergy experience on my recent Wish sailing. I have sailed on the Dream twice, RCCL multiple times and Carnival once. None of those past experiences hold a candle to what I experienced on the Wish! A couple of notes highlights:

- I was concerned about the wait times for my meal in Marceline Market and Festival of Foods (based on multiple vlogs I watched prior). I can tell you I received my meals much quicker than I expected! I never had a problem finding a head server that was more than happy to assist me and take my order. In fact, on embarkation lunch at Marceline, I had my plate of food delivered before my wife and daughter got back from their trip to the buffet. Amazing!

-I loved the choices at Festival of Foods. Donald's Cantina was by far my favorite, followed by the BBQ. It was like Chipotle at sea. I had an incredible amount of options to choose from here. GF burger buns, GF chicken tenders, GF pizza. Awesome.

-They have gluten free ice cream cones available upon request!

-The dining room experience was also amazing. They serve the same allergy rolls as WDW (Bloomfield Farms) and were always served to me warm. The highlight of my cruise was the last night at Avengers when the chef surprised me with a GF Chicken Schnitzel! It was AWESOME! If you don't see an option listed as GF on the menu, don't be afraid to ask if they can modify.

It was such an incredible food experience for me, and more importantly, I didn't get sick! Will be sailing Wish again in August :) If anyone has specific GF questions, feel free to ask!

My wife has an egg and shrimp allergy, and Disney does a really good job. For deserts it always comes down to how creative the chef is, but it has mostly been very positive. The first night is usually the roughest, but the following she puts her order in the day before and it works out so much better.

Great to hear you had such a a good experience! My husband has Celiac disease and we just went on the Fantasy in Jan (our first cruise) and had a great time! We are looking at booking the Treasure for Nov. 2025 and he is really looking forward to Mickey's Festival of Foods and the BBQ specifically. What was available there that was GF, were all the meats GF? Hoping that the great time you had on the Wish will pass over to the Treasure too!

Yes, all the BBQ meats were GF. The only thing I couldn't have there was the mac & cheese if I recall.

Thanks for sharing! I love doing Disney vacations because my celiac son can eat so "normal." I'm wanting to book a Treasure cruise but waiting to see if their GF options are as good as the Wish before we commit to anything.

I'm booked on the Treasure next year and am now even more excited since experiencing the Wish! The Festival of Foods will be virtually the same on Treasure. I'd say go for it!

Thank you! I came here looking for gf reviews as we are sailing in August on the Wish. We've been on the Dream. Where did you get the gf chicken tenders at Festival of Foods? Did you get anything gf from room service? What did you have on Castaway? Was there something specific from Donald's Cantina that you liked best? Thanks so much!

oh and one more question-did the pizza take awhile? Did you have to preorder the night before or just walk up and ask?

The GF chicken tenders were from Goofy's Grill. Yes, I got GF toast for breakfast one morning and Mickey ice cream bars in the evening. For Castaway Cay, I pre-ordered with my server the night before. GF hamburger, BBQ chicken and ribs, but we actually decided to go back on the ship for Festival of Foods because it was so good. Just the fact that almost everything available at Donald's is already gluten free. It reminded me of Chipotle! I almost wish I brought some GF tortillas on with me to make a burrito :) The GF pizza took about 8-10 minutes after I ordered, no need to pre-order anything in this area. Funny, we are also sailing again on Wish in August.

Thank you so much! This sounds amazing! When we last sailed the Dream they asked us every night to pre-order breakfast, lunch and dinner for the following day but only a menu for dinner so it was hard to know what to even ask for. And it's not always easy to know what you want the next day. Festival of Foods sounds awesome! Thanks again, maybe we'll see you in August-we've never sailed in August so I am hoping we don't melt from the heat:)

DW is gluten free. She always orders dinner the night before, but now avoids ordering breakfast or lunch, with the exception of ordering Mickey waffles the night before if she wants them for breakfast. They don’t appear to do anything special to prepare her gf breakfast or lunch when it’s pre-ordered. If she has breakfast, it will be in the open MDR, but lunch can vary between the MDR and the pool deck, so she may not even know where she’ll be eating lunch at dinnertime the night before. Dinner is different, in that she can see if there might be something on the dinner menu that can be easily modified to become gf, such as substituting the gf pasta on a pasta entree, leaving croutons off a Caesar salad, or omitting a sauce on a particular protein entree. Some of the MDR dinner menus are rich with gf options, some make it look like an afterthought. Competent servers and a knowledgeable head server can make or break the gf dining experience onboard DCL. Fortunately, her success rate is probably in the mid-80% range with over 30 cruises completed.
