my focus is going to be less on what the scale says and more about my measurements and BF%.

I like your attitude. I imagine that I will aim for this wonderful idea of yours. Focus on the body fat, the weight isn't the important number, at all, is it?

Of course, you are in England and can't answer that question :) I agree, though, the body fat is what we are trying to get rid of, the pounds seem to come off when we do that, but our body fat can be too high, even if our weight is not. Sad but true.

This is a wonderful idea, Karen. I'm really proud of you for thinking of it and deciding to use your body fat as a measurement of your success.

You are such a success, too. You lost .75 pounds this past week. That's three sticks of butter. I'm really proud of how well you have done. You have kept me motivated. Good job!

Keep that positive outlook of yours, it helps keep every single one of us motivated!

Nancy Sam and Paul left the next day. I don't think I'll be seeing Bob again :( He's such a sweetheart. All of my dinner companions are special people and I just love them to death.

kamgen Kamy, I'm so glad that you posted to the check in, too. I would have missed your success story if you hadn't. What a success story it is, too! Another two whole pounds are gone forever! Woo Hoo! Look at you go, you are just tearing down that road to goal. I'm so happy and proud for you!

I know you packed your WATP tapes and plan to keep exercising while you are gone. What determination and motivation you have! So much that you help keep me determined and motivated, too.
Have a wonderful trip. You have my room number, just in case y'all get here a day early. Give me a call. I will buy you a diet coke ;)

audflash You will be seeing that body fat percentage rate dropping quickly and soon. I promise. Can't wait to see how well you did your first week. I'll bet you do great!

nicolep91 What is the frustrating part? That you gained a pound because you ate off plan foods or that you ate off plan foods?

I'll bet you didn't see a true gain. I'll bet it was just the bloat fairy playing a cruel trick on you. Get to drinking your water, get back on plan and you will be rid of that 1 pound you gained plus even more very soon.

Don't give up sweetie. You can do this, I'm sure of it. Hang in there.

jenny2 You maintained your weight even though you "weren't very good" ? Really? That's wonderful news. Don't y'all think that is wonderful news?

Jenny, don't you think that's wonderful news? That means that you must be so subconsciously determined and motivated to make healthy food choices that you controlled your portions. Otherwise, you would surely have gained. Instead you maintained your weight.

I'm impressed. Honestly, I am. You had just better be feeling proud of your accomplishment, because I'm proud of your accomplishment. You are doing well :)

campingcorgi It is so frustrating when that happens, isn't it? Happens to me because my pc needs a new fan or something and overheats then I lose my long posts on the check in thread. I save everything to word now, save as I type along and it doesn't happen to me now :)
WOO HOO!! You got rid of that pesky extra .6 pounds that the scale showed last week. Good for you! I wish I could meet up with you while you are here. I'd love to meet another WISHer.

Have a magical trip, my friend.

anniet You are picking on me, aren't you? You want to see me bounce up and down and holler, huh? Well, it worked!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

WOO HOO!!! You lost 1.2 pounds this week!!!

Are you smiling that gorgeous smile you have? I'll bet you are. You are really happy about this, aren't you? Well...aren't you? You'd better be happy, you did great this past week.

I'm really proud of you so you had just better be feeling proud of yourself :)

RaySharpton Oh, sweetie. You didn't think that the bloat fairy only visited us female type people, did you? You know better than that. That stinker is everywhere.

So, let's think about this, Ray. You have a medical background, you're a pretty smart guy (it's true and you know it so stop with the modesty).

Okay. You stayed on plan, right? You did everything right? So, you know that the pound showing on the scale isn't a true gain. It is some sort of fluid fluctuation. It will go away.

Let me tell you what happened to my husband his third week on Atkins. He stopped losing weight. He did everything right and he stopped losing weight. He didn't lose another pound until about April. Then the WHOOSH fairy came to see him and he dropped like 10 pounds in one week and it's still coming off. Lucky for him he was seeing amazing health improvements. He felt so much better and his diabetes was totally controlled for the first time in 15 years. This kept him going and he stuck to the plan. Well, that and he just really loves eating eggs and bacon and steak and real butter ;)

You've got something better going for you, Ray. Yes, you do! Don't believe me? Go back and read what you said here:

I won't give up

See? Ray, do you see? You have determination! You have motivation! That's what is going to see you through this little set back. You are going to succeed at this Ray. We are all going to help you. You know what else? You are going to help us succeed too. You are already helping us. By being motivated and determined you are helping each one of us to be motivated and determined, too.

Okay, I don't seem to just write brief remarks anymore, do I? Do you think it is a side effect of Atkins? It doesn't seem to be a side effect for anyone but me  You can do this, Ray. I'm so proud of you for not giving up. See if you can add a little more walking this week. It might help.

jimmytammy Excellent attitude! I love it! Good for you. I hope you realize what a great sign maintaining your weight is--it means that you will be able to keep the weight off when you lose as much as you want to lose. Good job!

I'll bet you show a lose next week, sweetie. Hang in there :)

KathyTX Iwant one of those. Can I have one of those? Please? I'll pay good money?

Oh alright, you are just a stinker. I have to earn it myself, huh? Okay, I'll just have to do that then, you proved I could. I'll work hard and earn me one of those gorgeous gold clippies.

I'm so proud of you sweetie. Good job! Be proud of yourself.

I sat up late, very late, to write this. After enight, even :teeth: I just needed to check up on my WISH pals and see how well everyone did. I really miss y'all. It's time for a new check-in thread. Time just flies, doesn't it?

Katholyn
