WISH Check-IN Week of May 11

Hi everyone! Congrats to all who had a great week and best of luck to everyone who had a struggle!

I lost 1 lb. exactly this week making a total of 36! :D

Liz! That's great news, another whole pound gone forever. That's 20% of what you have to lose to get that 40 pound loss clippie. You're going to have it soon, I'll bet.

Isn't it just the greatest feeling to see your self progressing along the road to goal, resisting temptation, staying in control? Doesn't it just make you feel proud? You should be feeling proud, losing a pound is quite an accomplishment--you have one less pound to lose now.

We're all proud of you, sweetie. I hope you are beaming with pride for yourself, because I'm beaming with pride for you!

You are truly one of the kindest people I have ever encountered!! I am sure I am not the only one who checks back to see what wonderful things you have written and if my own name is mentioned.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply to each of us! It truly helps!!

So...MaryLiz...will you tell me what it means?

I know my name isn't MaryLiz, but I really really really want ONEderland myself, so can I tell you what it means? For me, it will be getting out of the two hundreds and into the ONE hundreds. A place my current scale has never been to when I am around. But I am going to get there!! Yes I will!!! With WISH there is a way!

Terry! That's what it means? Rats! I missed a getting to celebrate one of those. I should have confessed before, huh? That's what I get for being too proud to ask for help.

Let that be a lesson to all my fellow WISHers...if you have a question...ask...or you could end up missing a perfectly good reason for a celebration ;)

I hope I never miss anyone on the check in. I try hard not to do that, it's just so much fun seeing how well everyone is doing. I love the check-in thread, it's my favorite part of WISH (other than everyone who is in my support group--that's really my favorite part).

I lost 1 lb. this week. Oh well, better than gaining 1 lb. this week.

Bichon Barb Okay, I want you to do something. Go to your refrigator and grab a pound of butter, margarine will work too, and a roll of duct tape. I’ll wait.....nativetxn hums "lean on me" and waits patiently for Barb to return

Got it? Good... now take each stick of butter and/or margarine and use the duct tape to attach it to a body part. How about one on your forehead, one on each wrist and...ooh, one on the back of your neck? Good. Now wear that around for a while. Let me know how happy you are to lose one pound of fat when you finally take that butter off your body. Okay? Because I think you are going to be very surprised at what you actually accomplished this past week.

Now, let’s try it again shall we? :bounce: :Pinkbounc I lost one whole pound this week!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Think about how upset you would have been to gain a pound instead of losing a pound. Don’t you think you should have at least the same level of excitement over losing a pound as you would have been dismayed over gaining a pound?

You are doing great! You are making progress and you are succeeding. Now, I want you to be proud of yourself and I want you to acknowledge to yourself that you are reaching your goal. Let go of that timeline, the timeline isn’t important, the fact that you are working hard and working your way to goal is the important thing.

Celebrate your successes--don’t downplay them. Hey you did something great this week and I am very proud of you! Everyone else on WISH is proud of you too. Jumping with joy burns calories you know, you should give it a try sometime ;)

Hi everyone!
Lost a pound this week. Very happy about that! I am glad that I decided to not eat McDonalds or chips, because it is forcing me to find other foods, and it is also forcing me to find "fun" foods to try so I don't feel like I am deprived. Just finished yummy tacos for lunch!!!

Onward and Downward.....

Well, I guess I let the excesses of Teacher Appreciation week get to me because I have to report a gain of .6. Oh, well, at least it isn't a whole pound of butter!

Congrats to all the great losers this week!!

I am just starting (well, restarting after a three week carbo binge), Atkins today, so it is induction time for me. It is amazing how those carbs just start sneaking in til pretty soon, all I am eating is rice, pasta, and bread. I feel so much better on Atkins, so once I get through induction, I will stick to it for a while.

I made it 6 weeks before, then a major bout with the flu knocked me off track (reasoning: Sick people need chicken noodle soup, with lots of crackers. and a roll. and more crackers.) It's the first bite that kills me--if I stay off carbs COMPLETELY I am fine, but a cracker or two, and I am eating huge bowls of pasta and pieces of pizza two days later!

I want to lose 10lbs (at least for now, I could probably stand to lose 20, but that is a huge goal, 10 seems more manageable). After 4 weeks (non-cheating) on Atkins, I had lost 5lbs--I am definitely in the highly resistant category, but this is the only diet that has ever worked, even that much!

I didnt gain anything back in the last 3 weeks, but my face puffed up like a pumpkin. I am hoping htat is the first thing to go back to "normal".

So, checking in, at day 1, glad to have found you all, this board is so inspiring!

Ok I meant to do this earlier this week. Just been quite busy. Drum roll please!!! I am reporting that I have not lost anything. -- But the good news here for me is that I have not gained anything!!! I think I have made my turn around.

PRINCESS VIJA Well, there you go! What a great attitude Princess V. You have identified the problem and found a solution. Good for you!

Not only that but you lost one whole pound this past week! That is wonderful progress. Doesn’t it just make you feel proud to be in control? To identify the foods that cause you trouble and do something to avoid them? Look at you, sweetie. You are succeeding! I always knew you were a success and you just proved it again.

I’m proud of you cutie, keep it up, you are definitely on your way to goal.

campingcorgi Well, you don’t sound too awfully sad but you sound pretty depressed. Are you feeling sad? Really? Boy, the bloat fairy sure got some great mileage out of .8 pounds this week.

Come on. Think about it. You know this isn’t a true gain. This is fluid retention caused by the off plan foods you ate. You will drop all .8 pounds soon and even more, honest.

Teacher appreciation week is over, it’s history and you know what that means. We don’t worry about history, we worry about right now. You are back on track and focused on your goal. You are going to be just fine. I promise :)

MontyMontyMOnty Welcome to the weekly check in thread. Sounds like the bloat fairy has been to your house too. That fairy is such a stinker ;)

I think you are wise to break your goal up, starting with a manageable amount like ten pounds. How great that you have grabbed control before you had much more than that to lose. I think with your determination and motivation you are going to do just fine.

You will be reaching your goals soon, I’ll bet. We’re going to help you.

Tiger Lily 03 Woo hoo!!!! Way to go, now that is progress, sweetie. You maintained your weight for a whole week. I think that’s great!

You have definitely made a turn around. I can tell that you have a much more positive attitude now. You are on your way to goal. I’ll bet you report a loss next week. Keep smiling and be proud of yourself.

Bichon Barb Now, that’s more like it!!! Way to celebrate your success! It’s just more fun to smile and celebrate, isn’t it?

Mish19 If you lose .8 pounds every week for a year you will have lost 41.6 pounds. As Bichon Barb would say, “That's a lot of french fries and bagels with cream cheese!”

You are succeeding, Michelle, you are making progress. Be proud of yourself. I’m proud of you. Just think, that 15 pound loss clippie is practically in your siggie already.

Nancy Woo Hoo!!!! Look at you go, you are tearing down that road to goal. You are kicking up dust, too. Another 2.6 pounds gone forever.

Doesn’t that make you smile? Doesn’t that make you feel proud? I sure hope so. You are a success and I’m proud of you.

AlreadyexcitedGrammy Ummm....bebr? Where’s your new clippie? I can’t believe you haven’t added it yet. I would have had that new clippie in my signature before my pc finished booting up :teeth:

You are doing so well. Another pound of fat gone forever and a pretty, shiny, new clippie. I’m so proud of you. You are such a success. I always knew you could do it, too. I could tell you were determined and motivated all along. Now look what you’ve done, you have motivated me too. You are so nice to do that :)

Good job. You are focused on your goal and heading straight for it.

jlawall The slower you lose the better chance you have of keeping it off too. What a great attitude you have. Very determined. I love it that you acknowledge your success, a lot of people would have been disappointed but you know that you are making progress.

Good for you. You are reaching your goal and you are going at a steady pace. Isn’t it a great feeling to know that your hard work and determination are paying off?

You have lost over 27 pounds, I hope you are proud about that, because I'm proud of you.. You are doing great.

I love watching everyone progressing along the road to goal. You all make me proud to be a WISHer. Everyone helps me stay determined and focused, you are all just a great help to me.

Katholyn
