WISH Chatters Committment Week 4

Good Morning everyone! I'm so glad to see that everyone is doing so well with their committments!

Tammy--Excellent job getting in your exercise already! A nice outside walk sounds nice--our weather's supposed to be warm and beautiful today, too. Don't these kind of days make you feel extra good? Good luck with the rest of your committments today--especially breakfast. Sometimes food is so icky in the morning for me, too!

Hi Melanie! Not 5 minutes ago, UPS dropped off Total Sculpt plus Abs for me--I'm going to try it tomorrow! The first few times I did MCB + Abs, I literally tripped all over my feet! Now I have it down fairly well(?), but I had to learn not get discouraged with Firm videos--it takes me a while to get my arms, legs and brain to all work together! I love Allie, and I'm bummed she won't be in BSS3--I'm going to rely on you for a first-hand review of that system! Did you know that Jen Carmen's no longer with The Firm? My ds8's bummed about that--he's got a big crush on her. I can't believe at age 8 he's already noticing boobs! Great job on getting your exercise in--you must have the World's Strongest Quads with all the running up and down the stairs you're doing!

Tw1nsmom--Way to go getting your biking in, and I think weight training sounds great! I'm such a big fan of lifting and I've seen great results from it. I've also had to face the reality that I'm at that age where I need to think about keeping my bones strong (my mom has terrible osteoporosis), and weight-bearing exercise is great for that. I hope your weather warms up soon, and you can get outside--it's a big spirit-lifter. And yes!!! Taking care of all those children at your playdate DOES count for exercise (both physical and mental)!!! I hope you got some rest after that--it certainly was well-deserved!

I did Complete Aerobics & Weight Training this morning, and have a small victory to report. About 6 weeks ago I was able to do my first straight-leg push up. I was so happy, and set a goal to be able to do 10 by the end of the summer. Well, today I made it to 10! I was grunting and groaning by the 7th one, but I made it. So the new goal is 20 by the beginning of June. I think I can, I think I can... Today I'm committing to continue with my healthy eating and not eating past 7pm. Tomorrow I'll be doing my new Total Sculpt + Abs video to keep up my six day a week exercise promise. Things are going so well for me WISHers, and so much of that is because of all of you! Thanks so much for all the support and motivation--you all mean so much!!! Make today a great one, everybody!

Just finished dinner which was a new recipe - mexican lasagna - I modified to make WW friendly but it will definately be a repeat! Will post to the recipe thread.

Did my exercise yesterday and today and my committement for tomorrow is 6 miles walking but I really want to do 8-10 :D Time is always a factor when it's that long so I will see, but you can hold me to 6 for sure!

Lmds - what do you mean ......

and have a small victory to report. Well, today I made it to 10! (straight leg pushups)
that is awesome - I am still in the belly-flop stage when I am trying that!!! MAJOR VICTORY in my book!!! And I might add - that I am in awe of you who can do them - ohMom - just makes them look easy as pie!

T- hope it was an outside walk for you today - envy here ;) but soon and OH will be outside walking weather too! Breakfast before the ball game - that is a for sure - never know when they win - may be "screaming" for lunch out as a treat!

Mel - I do 8 flights of stairs at work and I was wondering - do you think that little blurb of getting the heart rate pumping is a metabolism booster for the next couple of hours? I tried to see one time how many calories for stairs and didn't find it. I am amazed at work people don't even walk down - heck that is the easy part!

Everyone keep up the good work - I am going to have to tell ohMom to get back here and let us know how she is doing, too!

Have a good weekend everyone - boy as I read over this thread we have been busy this week! Dr. Phil should have all of us as "models" boy couldn't we show him some committment!!

Cyber ***hugs*** to each of you - you know, of course, everyone of you are such an inspiration to me!

Well, I didn't exercise yesterday and probably won't today either. My angels turned into little germ factories this week. They are on winter break from preschool and have been feeling yucky all week. Yesterday it skipped from them to me. I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck. Right now exercise for me is dragging myself from my bed to the couch.

Good Saturday Morning everyone! Who's ready for the weekend?

Hi Bev!:wave2: And thanks for the kind words--you're the best! I'm going to keep on working hard until I'm really macho!:cool1: I am anxious to hear how many miles you did today! I also really want to try your Mexican Lasagna recipe. I'm a vegetarian and Mexican food is usually pretty easy to modify--Meat=beans, and voila! Geat job keeping up with your committment, Bev! I'm so proud of you!

Tw1nsmom--I'm sorry tht you and your little ones have had a rough week. Sometimes you can handwash and Lysol all you want and you STILL get sick! You're doing the right thing by resting. Exercise will do you no good since your body's already in a compromised state. I know with twins it's hard to rest, but do take good care of yourself and drink those fluids! I'm sending good wishes to you and your family, hoping that you'll all be healthy soon...:sunny:

I did Toal Sculpt + Abs this morning. It's a brand new video, and I'm sure I looked as ridiculous as I felt while doing it! It always takes me a while to get the moves down. I got a new video from ebay last night, a 60 minute full-body stretch which was highly reccomended by the readers of VideoFitness Forum. One of my goals is increased flexibility, and I think this may really help. I was always one to skip the stretching segments at the end of workouts, but I've started doing them lately and have noticed a big increase in how flexible I am. I told ds that one of these days I'll be able to do a split! Ahhhhh, to be 16 again... I'm going to eat well and not eat past 7pm today. Tomorrow is my exercise day-off, but Monday I'll be doing Complete Aerobics & Weight Training.

A BIG CONGRATS to everyone! WE SOOOOOO ROCK!!! :grouphug: Have a great Saturday everybody!

Yep- first time I have walked 10 miles at one time! Did it in 2 1/2 hours, so I am feeling pretty darn good about it, too! (thanks for letting me just say that, I know my WISH friends understand reaching a personal goal is exciting!)

Now, let me tell you also ,that my DH ran 10 miles this AM and I was thinking, okay - I can do it, TOO- (I never have had a competive bone in my body) BUT now there is one or two that is taking on some "spunk" saying - go for it! Anyway, I was armed with Oprah videos and just did it! And, the best part was thinking okay, you could go longer - so I am gaining that confidence that I need for doing a half marathon.

And, when I was all done, DH gave me kudos, etc. and then mentions oh, BTW, I am on target for doing a half marathon in April and if I do well, I am considering doing "the flying Pig" (full marathon in Cincinnati, OH in May, Evansmom going to participate in team event in it too). Whoa - that's it - it was fun for today but I told those "couple of competive bones" to relax - their job is over - back to just doing some walking to be healthier ;)

So - let me tell you, too - if I can do it so can you! Have a great weekend everyone - my day off is tomorrow too - but Monday I will be back to the hour a day - March 12th is fast approaching - but it's a committment until then!

Sunday morning and it's confession time for me. I didn't get my walking in yesterday like I had planned. DS had a ballgame early in the morning so I was planning on getting on my TM or going to the local park for a nice walk outside in the afternoon. Well, I am admitting that the UNC ballgame and my chair won out. I also didn't get in enough H2O yesterday.

Today is a new day. I WILL get in my H2O and really watch my eating today. I didn't WI on Friday because I was just feeling too fluffy and didn't want to get discouraged. I will WI this Friday and I am committing to working extra hard on the TM for the next two weeks. We will then be leaving for Disney.

I seem to have stalled in my weight loss and I know that it has a lot to do with exercising, water and portion control. I am saying all of this out loud because I need to HEAR it, not just to be thinking it.

Congratulations to all who have continued with their committments and know that I am so proud of you all. I'm looking forward to chatting tomorrow night and looking forward to our 5th week of committments.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day:sunny: .

Grammy- YOU DA WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOO Proud of you. Good work girl. You have been so dedicated and consistent with this marathon. You are, in one short phrase, my idol and example.

Hi everyone!

AEG--BEV!!! OMG!!! You did 10 miles?! That is just amazing and I am so proud of you!!! I love that you say you have such a feeling of confidence--there is so much more to exercise than looking like a million bucks--it can make you FEEL that way, too! I am so happy for you, Girl!

Hi Tammy! I LOVE your attitude! We all have times when we go off program a little (ummm, or a lot...), but it's how we respond to those times which determines how well we do over the long haul! You have done such a great job! You've worked incredibly hard, made great choices, and have been such an awesome motivator! You deserved the UNC game and your comfy chair! Now you're putting yesterday behind you and getting back to all the good things that have made such a positive difference in your life. I know that you'll do just great with the things you want to work on--your exercise, H20 and portion control--and I'm sending some {{{good vibes}}} your way! You're still jammin' Tammy!

Today was my day off from exercise, but I've stuck to my committment of eating well. Tomorrow I'll be doing Complete Aerobics & Weight Training, continue to eat nutritiously and not eat after 7pm. Well, at least I'm PLANNING to do all of those things tomorrow. I predict that after the last episode of Sex & The City tonight, that I will be found face down in my bed in an extreme state of mourning--sobbing in my high-fat, high-sugar Cookies-n-Cream ice cream!

See you all at check-in tomorrow, and GREAT JOB WISHers!

Hi Guys!!

Well its Sunday afternoon and I had a very busy weekend!

Friday was my rest day, and it felt so good. My daughter had her Birthday sleep over and I feel asleep on the couch early while we watched George Lopez. I literally just passed out!

Saturday morning I got up and did the FIRM Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. Took the girls out to Friday's for lunch and had a fabulous salad. It was a barbeque chicken salad with a small amount of jack cheese, corn, black beans, avacado, cucumber and tiny chopped tomatoes. No dressing, and it didn't need it because of the barbeque sauce. It was so tasty! I can't wait to have that one again.

Today, I did the FIRM Maximum Cardio Burn. I bought the BSS1 system (Body Sculpt, Cardio Sculpt and Ab Sculpt) this week and I may try to do Cardio Sculpt tomorrow in place of Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. Not sure though. Maybe I might want to keep a few weeks more with these 3 DVD's since I am finally starting to get the moves down. But they say you need to mix things up to keep your muscles guessing. I am thinking I need to get up early tomorrow to exercise since I have weigh-in tomorrow night, plus chat at 9pm. That would have me exercising very late. So I must force myself to get up. It will be a good way for me to see how I do. I may love getting up early while the house is quiet. So we will see.

Did good with water and eating this weekend. YEAH! Didn't have cake last night, and I really wanted some. The girls also got Oreo Madness ice cream cookies at Fridays. Boy was it hard watching them eat it. But I did good, and then got a good walk in at the mall.

Kim- Doesn't rest day feel so good! Although with the FIRM I really want to do it all the time. Very strange feeling. So how did you like Total Sculpt plus abs? That one gets my muscles pumping for sure! They are always sore the next day, especially once I went up to 8 pounds on the heavy parts. It is a shame that Jen is no longer with the firm. I recently read her before and after with the FIRM and turns out she is from a town right down the road from where we live. Small world. And I can imagine why your son likes her lol! She definately has a great body. Her arms are in great shape!

Tammy- That's ok about yesterday! Think of it as a well deserved Rest day. You have been doing such a great job! You so deserve it! Disney in two weeks! How fun! You are going to have a wonderful time and look fabulous too! Exercise will definately stall weight loss because you are gaining muscle wich is denser than fat. It will return again I promise! Just keep up the great work!

Bev- OMG I am so proud of you. You so ROCK! 10 miles is so great. If you can do that already, you will be so ready for the marathon. Did you walk outside or on the TM?? I can't wait to get my TM so I can start training. I did buy new Nike Walking shoes at the Mall yesterday, so I am excited about that!! I am armed and ready to start!! They feel so comfortable on my feet. I will probably start with a mile and work my way up. Dh is working so hard on this basement, but I am so impatient! Keep up the great work. You are truely doing a terrific job! Could you pass along your mexican lasagna recipe modified for WW's????? PLEASE! That sounds yummy!

tw1nsmom- Sorry you are sick. Hopefully you will be better soon and ready to jump back in!

Can you believe its been 4 weeks of exercising girls! I think I am going to sign Bob Greene's contract. The only thing I will have a hard time with is stopping my eating at 7pm on Monday's and a few days when DH cooks or we get pizza take out etc. Usually Friday nights are late night. I will do my best though!

Good Monday morning everyone,

Wow - I am shocked and amazed, but I did it! I actually got up at 5am to exercise. I feel really good and very proud of myself. I did the FIRM Cardio Sculpt, the new tape I got. Boy did that work a whole new set of muscles. I was really afraid that I wouldn't get much of a workout because I wouldn't know how to do the moves. I did very well, and I definately felt it! I can definately see the advantage of having lots of different workouts to rotate. I missed the music from the BSS2 video's, but this was fun!
I also got in 3 cups of water before leaving for work this morning. That would have never happened if I hadn't of worked out. I want to get 4 more in before lunch and then no more water till weigh in tonight.

Not sure how weigh-in will go, it seems a little down from last week. I definately saw the 139's more times than not this week, but it teetered in the 140's & 141 after eating and sometimes after waking up. I don't think I will manage a 1 pound loss, but hopefully it will be something. Who knows, maybe I will be surprised. After working out this morning it showed 140.2 and that was after drinking 2 cups of water which is a pound.

Can you guys believe we are going to start our 5th week! We are doing great. I am so proud of everyone! Keep up the great work and I hope to chat with everyone tonight!

Good morning, this is just a quick note to say hello and great work everyone. I can't do a long post, I just finished 50 min. on the treadmill and we have to get school going so because our Monday is really busy with piano lessons and scouts. We are doing a project on Germany that we will be presenting on Thursday for our homeschool group, so we have lots to do.

Keep up the great work everyone, I'm going to eat my breakfast after I shower and then I'll make sure to get my water in. Sending PD to everyone for a great day with their committments.

I'm planning on dropping in on the chat even if just for a few minutes tonight. Let us know how you all are doing:D .

Good Monday morning everyone! Hope you're all starting off the week feeling great!

Melanie!!! I'm so proud of you for getting up that early to exercise! It feels good to have it done, doesn't it? I enjoy Cardio Sculpt, too--although I'd probably enjoy anything that Allie leads!:) I really liked Total Sculpt + Abs when I did it Saturday, and was glad I had yesterday off so that my quads and inner thighs could recover--those dips off the front of the FL really killed me! I know what you mean about Firm videos--they motivate me like nothing else I've ever done, and I really had to hold myself back from working out yesterday, even though it was my rest day. I just got Super Cardio Sculpt, Calorie Killer and Cardio Sculpt Blaster--they're shorter videos that I think I'll use as add-ons when I want a little extra cardio with my AWT's. Good luck at weigh-in today! I remember teetering back and forth at times too, and it is aggravating! I wish I could figure out why the human body works the way it does! I do know that you'll hit the 130's PERMANENTLY real soon--you are working sooooo hard and will be rewarded! Congratulations on all your accomplishments, Melanie--you are groovin'!

Hi Tammy! WOW! It sounds like you have a busy day ahead! Congratulations on getting your exercise in today, and for sticking with the rest of your committments! I hope to see you in chat tonight, and I hope your day goes well!

I just got done doing Maximum Cardio Burn, and because I had a little extra energy, added Total Body Sculpt for some heavy-weight work. I'll continue to eat nutritiously and not past 7pm, and exercise 6x a week.

I hope to see everyone in Chat tonight! Make today a great day!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hi all! Everyone is going great I see. I am so inspired by you.
Had a busy weekend, but I did manage to get in about a 3 1/2 mile walk while DH was busy. I did that came back stretched and them we met up again. We had a weekend work event and all went well. Did some very off plan eating. Mmmm was it delish. Going to TM before chat tonight.

Hope to chat at you later.

I am still up and way behind schedule - for just everything I had planned tonight! and didn't get to chat even :-(

Did the 4 mi WATP this morning - and am just sure I saw MelanieC and TammyNC -doing their thing, too! Man that seemed like a long time ago now! But, Mel - will we be seeing more of you in the AM?

thanks everyone for the nice words about my walk - I did it on the treadmill - watching Oprah (tapes from the week), still too cold for me to venture out - it was decent (mid 20's) - but plenty of time to get outdoors, so I just took the easy way!

Mel glad to hear that you got some new shoes and I think that you are doing it right by the "break-in" method. That is one reason I stick to the same brand once I find one I like then I don't have to do that - cause most of the time I end up with nasty blisters!

And, I did post the Mexican lasagna on the healthy food thread - hope I put it in the right area!

Tonight we had pizza (La Tortilla Factory - 0 pts) used the tortilla for crust- they were tasty and even have some left for lunch tomorrow!

I'm off - need to get some sleep, that alarm rings early! Walking 30 minutes in the morning and my weight class tomorrow night - that will make my hour! I have a busy week, so I don't know that I will do extra this week but will keep my contract.

Good going everyone and keep up the good work!

;)
