That is a HUGE reason to CELEBRATE!!!!!
BIG congratulations to you! Your hard work is paying off!!
We are our own worst critics, aren't we?? That negative self-talk can really get in the way of success. Yes, a cookie or two isn't a reason to kick yourself to the curb.... especially if the rest of your eating has been clean and healthy.
Hope the weather holds for your runs. If I get in a walk today it will be on the TM, as it is POURING outside!!
Okay.... off to work!! BBL to chat!....................P
It was raining hard in the morning, but I don't usually go out until 9ish (the one advantage of not having a job), so it had stopped by then and I was able to go out! Rain stopped me from going out this morning, but I'm hoping to go out tomorrow instead - hopefully the snow we're expecting tonight won't stick!
Thanks Pam for the great words today. You are right Thanksgiving is just one day. I had breakfast, packed my lunch and I am ready for the day.
It is raining down here but it is supposed to stop before I get home. Which is good so that I can walk the dog. Dh usually does it on the weekends but he was painting so I did the afternoon walk. I was lovely yesterday and this afternoon is supposed to be even nicer.
I have some costumes to work on this afternoon and then I hope to get out some quilting and get that worked on. Dh has a 7:30 meeting so he won't be home until at least 9.
My knee is bothering me again. It was really bothering me in June. When we went to Alaska it bothered me but was starting to feel better. Since Alaska it has been the best it has ever been in a while. On Saturday morning I woke up with it feeling like there is fluid in there. The walking I did on Sat night and Sun afternoon helped. It is still stiff but it doesn't feel like there is fluid anymore.
Off to get my day started.
Have a happy and healthy day.
Ouch - I hope your knee is better!
happy Monday morning my friends!
Magdalene --- cyber high five!! CONGRATS on making your goal before vaca!!
Sarahdisney --back and I'm proud of you for changing your thinking first, that's key and a good reminder for me
Pamela -- let me know what your neuropath says about the viral supplement please
I had to skip the gym this morning for a phone appointment with my specialist, he's due to call in about 45 mins. I have a massage afterwards so I don't know honestly if i'll make it to the gym today. but I will definitely go tomorrow morning. I may just take my dog on a long walk to get some good steps in. I need to pace myself as the travel for the holidays will burn good and deep into my energy budget for the week
great reminder that Turkey day is just ONE day! I keep reminding myself of the inspirational post here that eating for my health is so much more rewarding then eating for taste or emotions. we have two family dinners to attend so my plan is teeny tiny portions
Pacing yourself is a good reminder - you don't want to exhaust yourself!
And I like your idea of small portions ... that way you can try (almost) everything and not do too much damage!
Sorry to hear that your knee is acting up again. Maybe it is an atmospheric thing. There is a LOT of severe weather going on in the U.S. right now.
Try hard to pace yourself so you don't end up sick or feeling miserable by week's end!! A massage sounds GREAT right now!
I am putting together my WRITTEN T.giving eating plan tomorrow. I'll share it if anyone is interested.

Day at work went by SO quickly!! Came home to no home phone and no internet and spent about 30 minutes on line with the service folks but the good news is that it is all up and running without a pricey service call!! But that's a half hour of my life gone!!Thankfully I had already peeled and chopped my veggies for dinner, so they made it into the oven to cook while I did the troubleshooting. And they are DELICIOUS! I made a combo of cauliflower, sweet potato, and carrots.... so yummy! Since DH got held up I don't have to feed him so I'm not making anything to go with the veggies and I'll eat them all myself! I had plenty of protein at breakfast and lunch, so no worries.
Off to finish my dinner!! TTY later or tomorrow.................P
Veggies for dinner sounds really nice - and it's great to not have to worry about cooking for anyone else, isn't it? That way you can eat what you want and not have to worry about tempting yourself with the food you don't want!
Good morning everyone. I have a half day today. Then off to get my free ham, a present for my mother (her birthday is tomorrow), the gas station, and then the bank. we are only getting rain here but ds2 came home last night since they were predicting 4-8 inches where he is north of Philly.
After I run my errands ds, dh and I are going to the movies to see the new penguin movie since I don't have to cook.
We are thinking of splurging tomorrow morning and making fried bread. It reminds us of my mother's mother. I always spent Thanksgiving with her and my cousins who lived next door to her. She had two massive tables that filled up 2 rooms and we all had Thanksgiving together. We never had a kids table. Everyone was all together.
Off to get the day going.
Have a happy and healthy day.
I like not having a kids table - when I was a kid, we sometimes had kids table, but not always ... I think it's nice to have the kids together with the adults.
MMmmmm.... fried bread sounds good! Is it like fried dough??
Hope you got all your errands done today! Enjoy the movie!

Afternoon friends! Snow started in earnest at 10 am almost exactly and hasn't stopped.... it is truly a WINTER WONDERLAND out there right now!
My green salad stuff is chopped and prepped for tomorrow, my quinoa salads are put together, my desserts are made and cooling, and my kitchen is cleaned up!!I now need to pack my bag for a few nights away from home and I'll be all set (well, not including yelling at the rest of the family to get THEIR bags packed!
).
Making healthy homemade pizzas for dinner, so that will be fairly easy and enjoyed by all. Other than licking a chocolate covered spoon this afternoon, my eating today has been SPOT ON. I really feel SO MUCH BETTER if I go into the holiday on track.
I'll be back in the morning with a quick greeting before I dash away for the holiday!...................P
Salads and quinoa ... sounds like a good, healthy start to the meal.
Congrats on going into the holiday on track - hopefully you can stay on track for much of the holiday and be back on track right afterwards!
Thanksgiving is no big deal in my house. When I was a kid we used to go to some family out of town, but we haven't gone in about 15 years ... me and my sister went (just the two of us) a few years ago, but I haven't been back since. I thought about going this year, but I just haven't been in the mood for big gatherings lately.
Not sure what we'll be doing around here. Depending on the year, we usually get either pizza or turkey shwarma. We had pizza on Sunday, so it won't be that ... I don't know if we'll be getting shwarma or just eat whatever's around the house.
Of course, the fact that we don't do anything for Thanksgiving means it should be easier for me to control my eating ... but no pressure.
Have a happy Thanksgiving and a great weekend, everyone!
