Wireless router ? at DVC

Ok. I set up my AirPort wireless router at home and connected my laptop and both of our iPhones to it. Everything worked.

Got here to BCV and set router up. Laptop works. iPhones show they are connected but iPhones lock up and won't do anything with Internet. They work if I turn off wireless and just use 3G. I set the network to public as my laptop recommended. I tried changing it to home or private but still couldn't get iPhones to work. Help!

I'm at AKV right now using my iPad. You might have to open your Internet browser first to "accept" the Internet connection (the page that says the 9.95charge does not apply to DVC members). I have a laptop with me as well and I had to do that on both devices.

Thanks! I'll try that! I was hoping that the next time I could just bring an iPad (if I get one) and our iPhones and not the laptop.

Don't know about Apple products, but I was able to bring up the browser and sign-in with my Droid. Also worked with my laptop. Once I'd done it on one device, the network worked for all devices until the next day.

I hope they haven't changed something. I also have both of our DSLR cameras connecting to my wireless router using Eye-Fi cards. They automatically upload the pictures from the day when we get back to the room. On our latest trip, they worked fine once I'd accepted the internet terms with either the laptop or phone. Obviously, there's no brower to use on a camera, so I'd be out of luck if something has changed requiring registration from every device.

As PP said, you have to log on and accept the charge (which will you will not pay as a member) each day and then all your wireless devices will work.

BCV is in the process of turning on its own wireless routers -- we were able to get them yesterday, but not this morning. Perhaps that has something to do with your problems.

When the BCV wireless was working yesterday, both iPhone and laptop were working perfectly. We're hoping it comes back up today!
