Hi Im leaving on the 24th. I have been terribly busy @ my business & have not had the time to do much planning! I have no idea where im going to eat during my stay, im sure that I will have to just do quicky meals or eat very early in the day! I need to bring my laptop with me, Im staying @ OKW until Jan 3. Travelling just me, my daught will join me for a few days next week.
Where is the wireless internet located ? Would i be able to use the WIFI for free or is there a charge? do I need something special for my laptop? Thanks in advance, Val S.

Unfortunatley you will not find wireless internet at Old Key West. The only locations that have wireless are the convention resorts:

Requirements: Requires a wireless interface card (WIC), available for purchase in the resort's business center.

Price: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes or $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours

Billing: Smart City will bill you using a secure credit card transaction via the on-screen Internet connection.

Locations include:
Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Convention Center Hallways/Common Areas
Resort Lobby, Main Swimming Pool Area, Concierge Lounges, Bellevue Lounge

Disney's Contemporary Resort, Front desk sitting area, 14th Floor Concierge - sitting area, Outer Rim Bar (near Concourse Steakhouse)
1st Floor Convention Center Lobby, 2nd Floor Convention Center Lobby,
Feature Pool

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Main Hotel Lobby, Convention Center Lobby area, Feature Pool, Francisco's Lounge

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, 1st Floor Lobby area including Tea Room, Convention Center Lobby area, 4th Floor Concierge area - sitting area

Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Main Lobby area (both resorts)
Concierge sitting area (both resorts), Convention Center Lobby area,
Stormalong Bay Pool

At OKW, You will have access to in room dial up (.75cents a minute) and Highspeed internet access for $9.95 for a 24 hour period (from the minute you sign on through 24 hours). You will need an ethernet cable which is provided free of charge through housekeeping if you don't have one.

You have to buy a WIC from Disney? What if you already have a wireless b/g on your laptop?

If you already have a wireless card, you do not have to purchase one, there will be instructions to connect.

For dialup, it is 75 cents per call (not per minute) to a local number or 800 number for your internet service provider. If you are a DVC member, I think local phone calls are 35 cents per call

If you already have wi fi on your computer you don't need anything else. For high speed in the room you need an ethernet cable. Or they have them at the front desk. If you don't have wireless on your computer I think they also loan a card for your laptop.
