Is wireless internet connection at DVC resorts free or is there a charge? I told my brother-in-law it was free and now I'm wondering if I told him the correct information. We are leaving home in 4 days for a week at Disney world. Mary

Internet access if free for DVC members (but it is not wireless). There is an ethernet cord in the room (but I have heard it is not very long).

Many bring something to make it wireless. I have read different answers re: someone who is renting or staying on points getting it for free. Some renters have said they did and others have said they did not.

I just returned yesterday and the first night they charged me for internet even though I am a DVC member. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and they promptly credited me. Just make sure to check your bill upon checkout.

If you book using points then the internet connection is free. When you log on it appears they are going to charge you but it will not show on the invoice. We have had any issues.

If it is a cash reservation than you will be charged.

Some resorts do have wireless in the lobby/public areas. Like the wired service, it is only free to DVC members staying on points.

Yes, you will need a wireless "router" to connect more than one laptop, pretty easy to do, I have one in our "Disney Box"
