Yah, keep the snow out there in the western part of the state! We'll take good, old-fashioned rain here on the North Shore, thankyouverymuch - and I don't even care that my street floods.

We dropped significantly up here but only heavy frost ...

I love winter!!!

But it's Fall, brrrrr. We're only getting rain tomorrow with some winds and possibly some snow (no accumulation). We haven't even turned on the heat in our house yet. Although that may change starting tomorrow

That is what happened in the Denver area the other day, lots of trees down, power lines down, etc.

20 years ago we had a blizzard on Halloween-everyone still talks like it is "normal" here to have 30 inches of snow on Halloween .

I was just telling dd last night, I don't ever want to see that much snow at one time again, the next month of driving was horrific!!!

I still went Trick or Treating that night

And made my parents drive me to a party that night, too.

Honestly, I am a bit tired of warm weather and sun. I could use a good snow storm.

Eeek, bite your tongue!! We got more than enough snow last year, we deserve a shorter winter this year.

I need to admit this snow is ALL MY FAULT!!!

1. I unloaded our snowmobiles off the trailer last week and did some normal maintenance on them. Went out, got some oil and changed one of the light bulbs. Put the covers back on and back in the trailer.

2. Put my other snowmobile trailer up for sale online, listed it thinking someone would want it before the snow came.

3. Made plans to go the snowmobile show in Lebanon, PA on Saturday.



So yes, little did I know all of this foreshadowed an snowy October - but yes it is my fault!

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY WET SNOW... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM SATURDAY TO 2 AM EDT SUNDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* ACCUMULATIONS... 8 TO 14 INCHES. THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND ON NON-PAVED SURFACES.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND CONTINUE DURING SATURDAY. THE SNOW COULD MIX WITH OR EVEN START AS LIGHT RAIN BRIEFLY AT THE ONSET.

* IMPACTS... HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DEVELOPING, AND THE HEAVY WET SNOW WILL LIKELY WEIGH DOWN TREES WHICH STILL HAVE SOME LEAVES ON THEM. THIS WILL LEAD TO DOWNED TREES AND POWER OUTAGES. THE WET SNOW MAY FALL HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM, LOCALLY INCREASING THE ACCUMULATION RATE.

* WINDS... NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES... IN THE LOWER TO MID 30S, BUT THEN DROPPING INTO THE UPPER 20S SATURDAY NIGHT.

* VISIBILITIES... REDUCED TO WELL UNDER A MILE AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED. GUSTY WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

.AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING NEAR THE SOUTHEAST UNITED STATES COAST TONIGHT WILL INTENSIFY AND TRACK UP THE EAST COAST SATURDAY. THIS WILL BRING A SWATCH OF HEAVY WET, AND POTENTIALLY DAMAGING, SNOW TO A DECENT PORTION OF THE REGION ON SATURDAY. THE STORM IS EXPECTED TO END AND MOVE AWAY FROM OUR AREA SATURDAY NIGHT.

THE HIGHER ACCUMULATIONS OF HEAVY WET SNOW SHOULD BE ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND ON NON-PAVED SURFACES. IF THE SNOW FALLS AT A HEAVY RATE, THIS WILL TEND TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF IT STICKING TO ALL SURFACES.


this is in sussex, nj. forecast is 5-8 inches saturday and 8-12 saturday night.

we are only suppose to get about 5 inches but right to the west, northwest of us (about 15-20 min by car) is suppose to get 8-12 inches.

Latest weather report has me right on the cut-off line of "not too much to worry about" - to "start packing like crazy and see if I can be out of here by early tomorrow afternoon.."

This is ridiculous for this time of year - but then again, the whole year has been ridiculous..

I did take some nice photos of the fall foliage this morning though - covered with snow.. LOL..
