winter storm warning

Tiff, where are you in NW Ohio? I'm in Perrysburg and around Toledo we had the 3rd warmest January ever. Lots of rain, and some snow on the 17th (we had a snow day but really didn't need one), but other than that not much. Now December was freezing and snowy, but January was very mild. Are you out by the border? My sister is in Bryan and she always gets more snow.
I know the super bowl is inside, but just the horrible inconvenience of getting to it on bad roads, blowing snow, etc. I-75 is never in the best of shape in those conditions.
It has started to change over here in Toledo but nothing is sticking yet because the ground is warm.

Robin,
I am actually very close to where you are. ( Less than 20 miles probably?? I do a lot of my shopping in BG if that tells ya how close I am, and my vet is in Perrysburg :teeth: )
Maybe I am thinking of before christmas :confused3 but I know we have had more than an inch and thats more than enough for me :lmao:

I'm so SORRY, Stacy!!! It was me. I posted the question and then when I read the OP I saw that they had asked the same thing. So I felt so stupid for not clearly reading the OP, that I deleted my post. (And since I have Mod "powers," I can do that. )

I didn't know that anyone would be so quick to read and answer my post. :(

LOL, no need to apologize...it took me by surprise is all! I have so many moments where I question my sanity these days, it really didn't phase me, LMBO! :lmao:

BTW, it is coming down really good here now! It just started sticking though so right now we have a dusting and it is definitely getting colder! :cold:

I am in Port Hurin and we have had nothing but rain since I got up this morning. Sometimes those really big slushy drops, but rain nor the less. I am not lokking forward to how much of that white stuff will accumulate if this rain turns to snow and continues like this.

Well, rain turned to snow about a half hour ago. Now we just sit and wait and see how much comes down before it stops. I really hate it when rain turns to snow. That ice under snow is soooo dangerous.

I am between Detroit and Ann Arbor and my Weatherbug is predicting 8 inches of snow for Detroit and up to 12 inches near Port Huron.

There are a lot of plows and workers on standby to clear the streets in Detroit for the Super Bowl tomorrow! IT's WINTER...it's DETROIT...it's gonna SNOW1

I work in ypsilanti. and live in stockbridge.

I'm home It's snowing here right now, but son just came in and said its not sticking on the rds yet.

Its too wet for any of the snow to stick so I doubt any of this will even accumulate. :sunny:

Well Tiff, my vet is in Perrysburg too! I go to South Suburban by the old Farmer Jack store. And the clinic on Hufford Road is very close to my area.
Colleen, that is funny about the soccer nets! We've played there many a time and it is not protected, really, when it is cold and windy, so it's one of those miserable days for the parents. When we got married we had relatives come up from Dayton--they were supposed to get on 475--they were so distracted by the Mosque (which was new then) that they missed the exit and stayed on I-75!
DS just had a footskills class at BGSU which ended at 6 and when we came out it was sleeting--I think this is going to top out at about 2" for us. Our sleds are getting all cobwebby in their corner of the garage!

Checking in from between Flint and Pontiac, in the sticks. It has been sticking here for the past hour or so. From looking at the doppler radar it looks like it will keep on coming down. I have to be in Lapeer early tommorrow for a hockey playoff game! I guess we can't complain, since this winter has been so kind to us so far!

Dh and I almost made the plunge to drive to Detroit for the festivities until we saw the weather predictions :scared1: No thank you!!! Thousands of drunk people driving in the snow! :sad2: I'll stay home and enjoy watching the Steelers finally get that one for the thumb from the safety and warmth of my living room! :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Hi from Mi. Just looked out the window and the snow is just
starting to stick on the grass. It is getting colder and the wind is blowing.
Not to worry.....there are a lot of things to do inside in Detroit. And
they are ready for any snow that comes. Come and enjoy. :moped:

I just looked out and the ground and cars are all covered in snow & it is still coming down.

I just let the dog out... it is BEAUTIFUL outside! Atleast if it is going to snow for the superbowl it is a drop dead gorgeous snow!

I'm in Lake Orion, about 30+ miles north of Downtown Detroit... It's been snowing steadily since 2:00 or so.... couple of inches so far. However, it's just not cold enough, so it's more like slush right now.... they say 6-12 inches.

As for snow so far this year.... almost non-existent... we get a couple of inches, it melts, we get an inch... it melts... we had more snow in December than in January....

Have YET to build a snowman! :sad2:

I would love some snow! I am so tired of the sunshine here in Az. I'm serious, 80 degrees in February is just WRONG.

Lulugirl, we can switch. I HATE the snow. We've been very lucky this winter. I guess I can't complain too much. It's been pretty mild with just rain. Right now its snowing and sticking. Earlier today it was just light snow showers. I hope all the partygoers going downtown, dress appropriately. Michigan weather changes every minute from one extreme to another. Hopefully the streets will be clear for the superbowl. Per Kwame, city workers are suppose to work around the clock tonight to clear the streets. Even volunteers are coming in Sunday morning to shovel the sidewalks around Ford Field.

I'm right outside the city of Detroit, and the snow stopped (for now!). It was sooo beautiful when it was coming down in big flakes! It's perfect for the game tomorrow, and is a nice change to all the rain we've been getting!

What's snow. Just kidding. I from the south there is possibly of snow for Monday so that means no school or work for us.

I going for the underdogs the Seattle Seahawks.

Raining here in Pennsylvania.....

That is where we take our dog/cats...lol I think they are a little pricey and may switch to one that is a bit closer in BG though.

Well we didnt get much snow, there is just a light dusting on the ground....how is it for everyone else that was suppose to get hit by this "winter storm"

Still snowing here :cold:

The weather people last night were saying that we actually did get quite a lot of snow but the ground temperatures stayed a lot warmer than they had anticipated so of course, not much of it stuck. It snowed here for about 7 hours before we even had an inch ~ can you imagine what we'd have on the ground if it had stuck?

Regardless, it was the prettiest snow I have seen in a long time! Last night we had flakes the size of quarters ~ it was beautiful to watch :goodvibes

OOOhhhhh....we need some of that here. I'm near Washington D.C....
we had what I believe was a record warm period for January & no snow.
February is traditionally our snowiest month, so I'm hoping.
