Winter Storm Brewing! Alberta

I'm supposed to be escaping the brutal frigid Alberta winter for some sun and a date with my favourite mouse and some dear Dis friends on Tuesday morning! My luck wouldn't you know a major winter storm is brewing to hit Edmonton area over Sun/ Mon and perhaps linger to Tue!!! I sure hope it doesn't cause me delays or cancellations to my flight Tue morning!!! I'm supposed to be airborne and on my way to Calgary at 6:45am, then off to Orlando at 10 am--
I will be one big ball of worry until I am safely on my way out of here!

A few years back when I was going to Mexico and we had the same type of weather leaving Calgary we managed to leave on time. I think the majority of the snow and wind had stopped so it was okay as they were constantly clearing the runways. On the way back it was pretty much a blizzard and I think the flight should have been delayed as it was a really rough landing but we did manage to get in. So here's hoping the weather is well enough Tuesday morning for your travels!

Who are you flying with?

As a backup, you can consider contacting the airline to see if they could put you on the YEG-YYC flight the night before (they are sometimes willing to make free changes if there's a weather advisory - cheaper than having to reroute you after the fact). Paying for the 100$ hotel would be worth it just for peace of mind?

Isn't that always the way it works out! I can't even remember a WDW trip where we didn't have to drive (we're about 2 hrs east and a little north of YEG) through lousy weather. Good luck and I hope you aren't stranded anywhere you don't want to be. Safe travels!
