Just wondering if this is a good deal for the DLHs for 5 nights in March:

PP: $1,090
DLH: $1,295
GC: $1,445

DH really had his heart set on staying at the DLH, and it will be our kids (age 5 and 7) first trip, so we really want to make it special.

Despite the fact that these prices are better than I was quoted when I checked in Oct/Nov, they are still pretty high.

Can I expect to do better, or are these hotel-only prices as good as it gets? Would I be better off to buy a package?

Thanks!

I am thinking of booking the Paradise Pier - $200 per night average seems like a really good deal...

We just booked our trip for March and I got an awesome package deal through Costco. You have to be a member to get the deal, but it was way better then disneyland.com.

Good luck!

Did you use the 35% off two nights or more special disney is running? Are you flying or driving there? Sometimes buying your flight and hotel together from the airline is cheaper than separate.

Hi pokee99,

I think the room-only offer pricing will depend on your travel dates. For one set of 5 nights, I had pricing higher than what you found, but for other dates, I found pricing that was lower (GCH: $1,319; DLH: $1,062; PPH: $1,000).

However, there is also a kids' fly free on Alaska Airlines offer (and since you're coming from Vancouver, I presume you're flying), which might be a really good deal for your family. There are some block out dates but it would be worthwhile to explore your various options.

When we went in 2009, I really wanted to stay at the DLH so I watched prices a lot leading up. I found the best prices through Expedia.ca so I booked through them. We went Oct 2009 for 4 nights and got $163 per night.

When checking on the Disney website, I found that pricing room and tickets separately was cheaper than doing a package by about $150! I had emailed the site to ask what the additional was for and I did not get a response. I was not very impressed.

Yeah, I checked into the 'kids fly free' programs before, and they really don't seem to offer much value (as the adult fare seems inflated to cover the cost of the free kid's flight) - at least from Vancouver. And then there's the taxes - they're killer ($150 per ticket). As an alternative, flying from Bellingham is $25 taxes for each ticket. Sheesh.

We ended up booking flights with our frequent flyer miles. Even cheaper!

Anyway, I'll keep checking in to see how cheap the prices will get. I already have the BWPPI booked - which I'd be more than happy with - but I will be ecstatic to stay at a DLR hotel!!!
