I've been watching for this too!!! Nothing yet, but last year the code came out on July 20th. So maybe soon.................. Let's hope.

Well, I'm :) that y'all can do that but soooo :sad2: that I can't. Oh, well, one of these years.......

Hi, I have always wondered where to find the 30 day or more quotes for camping at Fort Wilderness. I have heard it called the snowbirds quote, does anyone know about this?

called a winter settler's rate, usually is published this time of year, but
so far has not....have been checking daily...nothing so far....
for January and February value season.....
if I find it, will post ASAP................
spinner :sunny:

I'm hoping that if they don't have any winter settlers rates at FW, they'll at least have an AP rate like they do now (through 10/4/05) for $35.

Hello 1100 loop neighbor. I also watch for Winter Settler Rates and nothing so far. I couldn't even get the AAA rate

I am guessing that they may not as many of the resorts etc are currently running at capacity so you may not see it this year.

We have been watching and calling also. CM said they probably will not have the Winter Settler rates this year.
We made full hookup reservations for Feb.; could have got partial hookup at AAA rates. Did that a couple of years ago, our 23 foot motorhome fit fine in the 1500 loop-but, a real pain driving to a empty site every couple of days to dump the tanks.

TONITE......my calll re winter rate garnered me further information from CM.....
the winter settler's is discontinued.....oh fudge.........................
BUT....OUR first winter, while we did miss the settler's rate a few years back...
there was a "anyone can use code"(IN THE FALL) which did nicely, however we had to break it up to 6 different ressies and work around the holiday wkends which was sucky but worked....
is there not an annual code till 2/15 out? (dont have an AP)....
SO..........THE BEAT GOES ON.................SPINNER :wave2:

That's strange. Last year, while we were visiting Dparents, FW had a reception for the Winter Settlers. They asked what they could do to make FW better. I'm sure none of them said "take away our discount." :confused3

What's up with that?

My understanding from other Winter Settlers is Disney really doesn't want us there . They feel we don't spend enough money in their parks and restaurants. Since many winter settlers are older couples they figure if a family of 4 came in they would make a lot more moeny on souveniors, food, boat rentals and etc. I guess we will bite the bullet and pay the price this year for the 75 nites, but, we will be keeping our eyes open for another place to stay in 2007 as I am sure many of the winter settlers will be doing the same thing.

THEY really wish we would all go away and this is the first step in discouraging
the winter settler for sure....not too long ago....winter 01- 02 I recall Loops closed, parks not very crowded...restaurants half full at peak time.........
but that was after 9-11..............
I remember reading somewhere that some campers even got a card on their windshield asking if they wanted additional days at a discount?.........
supply and demand as always....
we, too, are thinking of other places around Florida and SC to visit...
perhaps make more State Park reservations during next winter....or a month in
a RV resort....some of our Winnie Club members are in Titusville for the winter
and LOVE IT.....
THINGS are a changin...........turn, turn, turn.........................

first post, hope it works. We have been winter settlers for several years, staying in 1300 loop, and like you all, have been checking daily for info. I called CW direct about a week ago and was told the rate will not be offered this year and was given an email address to send comments to. I did that, politely and nicely, and requested info regarding lowest rates. My rate was changed a few months ago to $44 for Jan and Feb, $47 for December. (We have reserved for Dec 15 thru March 15). If anyone discovers better rates and how to get them, hope you will post info. Our current thinking is that we will cancel out two months and go to WDW for one month, further South in Florida for the other two months. Hope everyone will keep this thread going for awhile with any info you can find. Oh yeah, Disney chose not to respond to my email. I understand their decision from a business standpoint not to offer winter settler rates. But they should feel a sense of obligation to us for info regarding lowest rates available. We were there after 9/11, too, when large areas of the campground were closed down. What happened to customer service? What about loyalty to long-time customers? We spend about $10,000 for a winter in Florida, most of it at WDW.

It is really sad. I guess WDW doesn't take into account all the visiters winter settlers bring in. We spent 11 days with my dparents last year and 8 days the year before. Dh and I have three children and spent hoards of cash there! I guess we'll have to go wherever my dparents go this year. My Dfather feels like WDW is playing a game and is pretty annoyed. They've been to WDW around 50 times. Where's the customer loyalty?

I EMAILED customer service on my thoughts on the winter settler's matter....
while I received a standard "your msg was recd and we will be in touch" reply....
I will see if this actually happens.....
I always return postcards after visits and do email DISNEY ....I have NEVER, NEVER, gotten a reply...................................JUST WONDERIN.....................
........AH, its enough to be on your way, nuff to be moving on....JT....HOURGLASS CD :paw:

still nothing about winters settler rate, except I guess its gone for good. I checked for AAA and AP discounts and was told neither has been announced yet. Still hoping to spend the winter at FW, as we have for several years, but its looking doubtful.

I think it is hard for Disney to correctly judge how much money campers spend. I know that with us, we tend to take cash only because we have our 'home' to keep it in and we don't charge much to our KTTW cards.

We might all want to think about putting more on our cards so they can track our spending and see that we do buy our fair share--or in our case more than our fair share! :dog2:

That is exactly what we and several of our fellow campers do. We use our ID cards with the charging option for just about everything. The bill is itemized in great detail, so they can see just what you bought and where you bought it. Well no use complaining. Nobody is twisting our arms to stay there. We'll be there this year for sure. Never know what the future holds.
