We are going to DLR tomorrow (Monday), and I've never been during the holiday season. I have two questions:

- What time do we need to line up for the 5:30PM Santa parade if we want to get a seat on the Main Street curb?

- I see 4 different times listed (5:00, 5:15, 6:30, 7:00) for the Wintertime Holiday Lighting on the castle. What actually happens at each of those different times? Is it a "show", or do they just turn on lights? Should we watch from the hub?

Thanks!

Grab a spot by 4pm, and plan on having late lunch/early dinner there to kill some time. If you grab a curb spot in the circle in front of the train station, and you'll be able to catch the flag retreat as well. As for the holiday lighting ceremony, they light up the castle much more than it's lit the rest of the night. You don't need to be there much earlier than a few minutes to see what happens, as there is no need to really look for a "good spot"

You will have a great time. If you have never been to DL during the holidays, you have no idea how magical it truly is!

Each time of the night it's a little different, though none are better than the others. I would suggest the Hub end of main street or the back of the Hub so you see the trees in the hub and Castle well.

Just like the good suggestion to watch the parade in Town Square to catch the Flag Retreat also, you can probably go to Hub a little after the 5pm lighting and as they leave find a spot to watch the 5:15 lighting and stay there for the Parade.

Two good options to make use of waiting time.

That sounds like a great option, as I don't think DS3 would be up for waiting an hour and a half to see the parade...even if I were to give him food!

Thanks to everyone for the help and info. I've been to DLR dozens of times, but never during the holidays. I can't wait!

I am going tomorrow too (Mon). I'm sorry but what's the hub? Thanks!

The Hub is officially called the Plaza. It at the end of Mainstreet in front of the Castle. It's a circle and like spokes(off the hub), paths go into different lands. The Partners Statue is in the center.

Thank you! So I hope to figure it out and find a decent spot to see parade & fireworks. I've only seen fireworks by small world before. When you said "end" of main street I didn't know which was considered the end, so thanks for clearing that up. Makes sense. On our way down! Didn't think we were going till end of Jan when we stay at hotel but decided on last minute day trip today.
