I've began noticing how cold it's getting of a morning which is making me :-( I love the summer and the sunshine, I'm on early shifts this week so I've also noticed how dark it was this morning when getting up (I hate dark mornings), the only thing i like about winter is the lazy duvet days indoors, and christmas! Who else hates the thought of winter approaching? Anyone here like winter?

Not Me !!

Even though I love Christmas, and my birthday is in January, I love the summer and the warm weather more, I'm really not looking forward to dark mornings/evenings and the cold, brrr :(

Winter is just evil. From a selfish point of view with the horses it involves lots of mud, soggy wet rugs and very cold feet, hands and ears! It's all work to keep them and no play as too dark to ride outside work hours :(
The good things though are Christmas and snow days, not being able to get to work and working from home in my onesie in front of the log burner!

Don't give up on summer yet though as I heard there was the chance of reaching 30degrees this week! :D

I feel your pain. Not only do I have 8 horses at home, I work with them too. It has been miserable up here the last couple of days :sad2:

heating went on last night for the first time in weeks, can feel it turning in the evenings, although the sun today is glorious, not happy that autumn is on the way & will be making the most of gorgeous days while I can

I much prefer the summer but there's a few things I'm looking forward to this winter

- Charlie's first proper experience of snow. He was so tiny when it snowed last that he had to stay indoors really. (Although I would just like one lot of snow - preferably only lasting a day and at a weekend when I don't have to work lol)

- My slow cooker! Love love love my slow cooker. I use it in the summer but I use it much more in the winter.

- Darker mornings. I don't like it dark really late but I don't much like it light before 6am as the kids thinks it means time to get up :)

Glad someone understands :rotfl: My work colleagues probably get sick of my winter complaints!

What horses do you have? :goodvibes

I love summer wearing shorts and t shirts cutting the grass and enjoying nature. I hate winter getting up to a frozen car walking through the snow and ice and falling on my butt. I am not as young as I used to be and don't bounce anymore when I fall I just flop. Shoveling snow and freezing my butt off hate it.

I don't like the winter but I do like hot baths and not going to bed boiling hot.

Also that it's dark for DD bed time and hoping she sleeps in a bit longer in the mornings.

I love Christmas. Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier and I love it. I love the shops feeling all Christmassy and the Christmas music and tv.

We have carnival and firework night in our local town :)

I normally hate January/February but going to WDW helps now.

I have a Dutch warmblood and an Irish sports horse that are my own but we also have a Fresian, Clydesdale, tb's and a couple of cobs here so as you can imagine winter is non stop!

What about you?

We have 2 Haflingers and 2 miniature Shetlands, not quite as chaotic as your lot I'm sure, but they certainly keep me on my toes!

I don't really mind Winter. It means its still dark when I finish night shifts in the morning and its cooler making it a lot easier to sleep. Plus its more comfortable at work in my uniform which is not pleasent in the hot weather.

Plus I love it when it snows even though I still have to go to work, I find the public a lot more helpful and understanding then when we are at work.
