I received the Winter edition of the Disney Files DVC magazine yesterday. Only had a chance to glance at it but it looked like it had some good articles in it.

I did read the editors letter, and was interested that he promised the next issue would, to paraphrase, "provide details about all those DVC resorts we've announced but haven't told you anything about".

Sounds like we'll finally be getting some details on VGC, Hawaii and who knows what else! :thumbsup2

I got my copy and read it last night. Interesting article on the Treehouses. Also some pictures of the art that will be in the Bay Lake Towers.

Haven't gotten my Winter Disney files yet, but here in South Louisiana we did get

SNEAUX !!!!!!!

Of course just about everything is shut down, but that's okay I get an extra day at home to get ready for Christmas !!

Maybe my magazine will arrive today!!

I know this is silly but has anyone noticed the different texture of paper they just started using on the cover sheet of the winter edition of Disney Files? It is no longer the smooth glossy covering. Instead, it is a dull rough type of paper. Maybe this is another cost cutting effort on Disney's part. :confused3

Got ours here in NJ yesterday too. I have't really had a chance to look at it yet as my dh made off with it and I'm not sure where he left it.:confused3

we received our copy yesterday also. pretty interesting article about the THV. The decor for BLT looked the model in the DTD model. I agree with the type of paper, probably another way to cut costs like everyone else is doing.

Up here in NW Louisiana, we got our Disney Files yesterday and we didn't get any SNOW. Just more rain. Funny about that snow.

Nope...a green effort. On the inside cover is a blurb that states that Disney Files Magazine proudly uses recycled paper and soy-based ink. In most cases, recycled paper for commercial printing is actually more expensive than traditional paper.

If they really wanted to be "green", they could leave all the non-DVC news out of the Disney Files and print it on a 3x5 card.

OR post it on the member website. They used to post all the Vacation Magic's there, but nothing is available since 2006 or 2007.

Deb...I agree that they should put back issues in an archive on the site. As for taking out everything else, well I guess I'm in the minority in that I enjoy reading about new attractions, things going on around the world and the imagineering interviews and Vault Disney.

That's very strange. Is Al Gore in town?

Got my Disney Files today but haven't read it yet. Maybe later tonight.
And the sneaux is gone. There are a few snowmen that were placed in shady areas that are still hanging around! It sure was fun while it lasted!!

Entropy: :lmao: :lmao: But one of the local radio shows said it may be the end to gobal warming or H*** freezing over!!

We got ours two days ago and I've already read most of it. Cool article about the Treehouses...can't wait to try one out someday. But I hadn't noticed the blurb about more to detailed articles to come for the new resorts. I will look forward to reading about them!

I read our first DisneyFiles, cover to cover, and I enjoyed it very much. We just purchased in September so it was our inaugural issue.:lovestruc

I have been feeling "homesick" since I returned from AKV 6 weeks ago so I made the beef bobotie recipe tonight for dinner. I'd never tried it at Boma, but my version was pretty good.

Now, I can't wait until we go back in June and I can try the stuff made by professionals!:rotfl2: Then I'll know what it is supposed to taste like!:lmao:

I enjoyed the article on the THV -- thinking how to share the magic with some friends in the future. And, even though I haven't seen the model yet, I'm more convinced that BLT is not for us. The artwork combined with the artist depictions in the fall Files has me fairly convinced that it's not for us....now in January when we go down, I'm afraid about seeing the AKV!:rotfl2:

SNEAUX !!!!!!!

We haven't received the Winter Disney Files yet either, but we got about an inch of "sneaux" down here in SW Louisiana too. First time my almost 21 year old daughter has ever seen snow. LOL, she called me at 3:30 am to tell me it was snowing. She said there were a lot of students outside the dorm having a snowball fight. :rotfl:
A few snow pics:

Two hurricanes & snow in less than 4 months. Hope this is the end of the weird weather for awhile!
