Winter Dance

ok so my skool is having a winter dance next weekend and its girls sk guys. I want to ask someone but a)the guy i want to ask my mom doesn't like b)all my guy friends i've known them WAY too long so it would be like asking my brother.......there is this one guy who goes to my church that i'm thinking about asking.....so does anyone have any advice? it's greatly apperciated

it matters because i had an incident where his girlfriend threatened to kill me but there was abunch more details to y my mom doesn't like him that aren't appropriate for this board XD so yeah thats y it matters if my mom would have to like him

He won't go unless someone asks him and buy his ticket(he said he might though) so yeah but my mom told me to ask someone that goes to my church and he does so i was like o i'll ask him hahaha
