Anyone use the transportation provided by Windsor Hills? We are going with my parents and they will not want to get up as early as the rest of the family. I want them to be able to meet us at the parks later in the day. I am hoping they can use the Winsdor Hills Bus Transportation to get over there but we might have to rent two cars if this option is not viable. Any one with experience on this one?

Another option is to have Dad drop us off at the park and then come back later but not sure how this would work. I will ask over on the transportation board.

There is a shuttle service from Windsor Hills to the parks - an information sheet and timetable is available at the clubhouse. The service is operated by Maingate Transportation, and you can find the rates on their website at www.maingatetaxi.com/shuttles.htm

You have to pay for the shuttle service? Would it be easier to just take a taxi?

How does the Windsor Hills Resort daily shuttle service work/operate/etc?

In the sundry shop in the Windsor Hills Resort clubhouse you can find schedules and make arrangements. Shuttle cost is $10 per person round trip to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom. $14 per person round trip to universal, seaworld, and shopping areas. There is an information sheet at the clubhouse with the time schedule. The shuttle company is MAINGATE TRANSPORTATION. They can be called at # 407-390-0000. A taxi cab to Disney is $20 one way.. cab to Universal is $32 one way.... Don't forget it costs $10 per day for parking at Disney and Universal if you drive.

Honestly, rent a car, you're better off! I would use the shuttle only if someone had a need to get there separately.

Depending on the time of year that you travel, you can surely get a rental for $28 per day or less. Of course, that doesn't include the $10 parking, um, convenience fee. But with the car they can have a much bigger sense of freedom, which is important... you don't wanna feel trapped on your vacation.

Make that $11 Lisa ...(urghhh).

But yes, having a car when offsite is what I consider a necessity.

Thanks everyone. We will probably rent a van for the whole crew and then a little cheap passenger car for my folks just in case they want to escape my zoo crew and do something on their own. The shuttle is a nice backup and I am glad to have a better understanding now.
