Winning the Lottery

Buckleybunch, your thread cracked me up! This is what I was thinking about all morning! Told dh to pick me up 3 tickets, always 3, no more, no less.

First, dh would quit his job! Then we'd pay off all our bills, buy 2 houses, one in Florida and one in Hawaii (but we'd still live here most of the year). I'd buy all our siblings houses (or pay off the ones they have if they want to keep them) and our inlaws too. I know my parents don't want to move out of their house, but I'd let my mom retire (my dad is already retired). I LOVE my new Sienna mini-van, so no new car for me (hmmm, unless I want an extra one in a different color?). I would give money away to lots of charities. And I'd give some to our local zoo. Our zoo does so much for our community just by being there! Ok, I think that's it!

Maybe one of will be on the local news channels tomorrow. LOL
I prefer channel 7.. lol

Lets see.. DH bought four!

What we would do..

First disconnect the phone
Then change all email
I of coure would pick it up anonymous.. and not hae to deal with that much publicity.

I would make sure my kids were set !

I would remodel my kitchen. and put in a bathroom upstairs, and finish the basement (in that order). We could possibly get creative with a small amount of yard we have. Of course the temptation to buy a huge house, is there, but I would be content in our Cape Cod. (hate being practical somethimes)

As crazy as it sounds, I probably would still work. Work gives me lots of satisfaction. Plus, also DH has already told me he would quit his job. If i couldn't work, I would just go back to school full time and finish up my teaching degree. Then after I got my degree, I could either go straight to masters full time., or work in an underserved district.

My goal would not to draw attention to it, and still live as normal as possible lifestyle. I would anonymously pay off my Grandmothers taxes for her house for the next few years...

My dad has always worked two -four jobs his whole life. If i gave him some, it would have him not tied down to all his jobs.

My DH and I would set up 2 foundations - one to pay for any boy in our cub scout pack who wants to go to scout camp - and one for students from our sons' Catholic Grammar School who can't afford Catholic High School.

After that comes college funds for our DS's and all of the neices and nephews.

Finally building our Dream House from the ground up -- the old-fashioned way - No McMansion for me!

All this, would of course happen after the celebratory Family Reunion at WDW on me!

First off, as others have wisely mentioned, I would disconnect the land line and just use my cell, since only a few people have the number.

I would gleefully inform DH that he could tell the boss what to do with his job. I'm self-employed and would quit work to set up a micro-credit foundation. I would also endow the local soup kitchen.

I would build my dream home closer to WDW (not sure if I could stand Florida humidity, so maybe a bit north of there), which would include a few lovely guest cottages and several garages for the cars DH has always wanted to own. Annual WDW passes, of course.

I would take immediate close family members and our dearest friends on a WDW 7-day cruise and give everyone a nice sum of cash. I would set up a trust for my nephew to secure his future.

I must admit that I would enjoy NOT giving anything to the people who do NOT deserve it.

Well if I win...THEN I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! haha couldn't resist.
While we are all dreaming I thought I would add my two cents. I would buy some new cars (the Escort had been through a lot lol). A Mercedes and a Hummer for sure, because I like how they drive and I guess an Escalade too.
Then I would buy all of my family members new homes. I don't have to pay for college now (scholarship) but I would set aside money for law school. I would also travel the world during the summer on my private jet :D
Of course, I would donate a very generous amount to Cancer and Diabetes foundations, as well as the Humane Society. I would also give a large donation to old high school. All of my friends would be very pleased with their birthday gifts this year, let's just say that :)
Well guys it was fun to dream for those few minutes..hope one of us wins !!!

We brought two :)

First we would pay up all our debts, then make sure my DS has a nice trust fund.

We would fly off to Alaska & look at places to build our log cabin dream home. It doesn't have to be huge but nice n' comforty with a fireplace & a bay window overlooking the lake !!!
We would probably also have a winter condo near WDW :teeth: ::yes::

I would also donate a good portion of it to animal rescue missions. One group I know I would give to is the ASACP! I love
that group & the work they do for abused animals.

I would also pay off my mother house & let her go anywhere in the World she has always wanted to visit. (first class all the way of course)

It is so fun to dream ::yes::

And the winner was.....not me :(

CNN Powerball
The winning numbers were 5, 7, 18, 28, 35 and the Powerball was 1.

one to pay for any boy in our cub scout pack who wants to go to scout camp

Doesn't your council have camperships? If not, many times organizations like American Legion, Lions Club, or Kiwinias will sponsor a scout to go to resident camp. Our council has always said money will never be a reason why a scout doesnt go to daycamp or resident camp.
