Winkler's head back! We are home.... The TR of a CRUNCHY MAMA! Updated with pics!

Silly me!!! I haven't even given any details! lol!!!

Our trip is May 3- May 10. We are renting DVC pts and staying Deluxe for the first time! I got an awesome deal on the pts! The first 6 nights are AKL, 1 bedroom, Kidani Standard. The last night is at WLV, Studio. Mostly just to try something different.

May 6, we are driving to the gulf side to have a beach day. Usually we just add a day or 2 on either end of our trip for the beach (usually Clearwater), but we are doing things differently this time. Gabriel has never been to the ocean, so I am excited to take him! I think we are going to visit Siesta Key. I used to vacay with my grandparents and have wanted to take DH for some time.

Of course, we will be driving. We will get home on May 11, Levi's birthday. So I plan to pick up something to take to the cemetery.

About food. Every time we have been to WDW, we have stayed on site and had the DDP. This is the first year we will not be doing the DDP. I always suggest people going to WDW to get the plan, so why are we not???
1. Isabelle is an "adult" this year. When I calculated what we would likely order and the cost of the DDP, we aren't saving anything, but actually loosing $.
2. Due to my dairy restriction, I fear I wouldn't be able to order like usual.
3. Our eating habits are a bit different. And though it is vacation, I am still going to eat well as much as I can.

So, I made out ADRs-
May 3- 'Ohana dinner
4- Tusker House lunch
5- San Angel lunch
7- Hollywood and Vine lunch
8- Crystal Palace lunch
9- I have 2 dinner ressies. Still trying to pick one. WCC or The Wave.

Most of the remainder of our meals will be prepared in room/ taken in Bento boxes. I will tell more about those plans next time!

Watching Aristocats tonight!

Dinner tonight was supposed to be beef burgundy, but I chickened out and made pot roast...ugh.... lol! No pictures. ;)

I love Ohana and Crystal Palace. I'd go with WCC for the other dinner ressie I've never been there but it appeals to me more. :goodvibes

Alicia

We love Kidani. It is my favorite resort.
Hi Chiara!!
I love Ohana and Crystal Palace. I'd go with WCC for the other dinner ressie I've never been there but it appeals to me more. :goodvibes

We have been to all but the Wave. The food there is more geared to our new eating habits. I love WCC, though, although they have changed a bit since i was there last. And we are staying at WLV that night....:confused3

I love oven baked fries and sweet potato fries too. Those are my absolute favorite with salt and pepper. Mmmm. We made a huge batch one time and took them as snacks for the drive down. They taste even better cold.

We're not getting a dining plan in May either. We only have a microwave in the suite so food is going to be an issue. Not sure what we're going to do yet. We'll probably be eating a few times at the Ale House. They have great food and the portions are huge. Kids are still kids there too. ;)

The Wave would probably be my choice of the two. I eat BBQ type food all the time so a nice fish dinner would be better. Both excellent choices though.

Been a fun day!!!!

The kids and I took a nice walk. I am SO out of shape! ugh.... That's not the point, though. It was beautiful!! I am hoping to get more walks in before or trip! Isabelle found this enormous leaf. I am pretty sure it is a Sycamore.

Here is how the garden is looking! Cabbage, green and red, Onions, Brussels sprouts and kale are up. I also have squash, yellow, zucchini, and honeyboat, as well as cuke under straw. And spinach, peas, lettuce, and carrots seeds planted. I will have some extra squash starts soon. I have broccoli starts, but they aren't big enough to put out, as well as Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and MANY herbs!

For dinner tonight our theme was Princess and the Frog! We had company. A couple of missionaries were over. We all enjoyed Jambalaya, Salad, and homemade bread, as well as fellowship! After they left, Gabriel passed out, so we didn't watch P&F, though the kids just watched it recently. Instead, I watched a bit of The Bible series that I just bought on DVD.

I JUST finished a dress for Isabelle to wear to 'Ohana!! Here is a peek!!

DISclaimer: Please excuse any messes...:)

A few more projects finished yesterday and today!! Colors aren't very good... I miss my camera. :(

For Isabelle to wear to Fantasmic!

Mexican sets for Cinco de Mayo! Planning to make me a skirt if I get time!!

'Ohana outfits for the boys!

First set I did for this trip! Moroccan beauty! I am hoping to make a skirt to match!

And for fun!! Here is Isabelle making a rat snake dizzy yesterday!

BRRRRR....... Who had to turn the heat on today??? :sad2:

It is a whopping 40 degrees out! The chickens will have to be put under a lamp tonight and my squashes recovered. Yesterday was all sunshine and smiles, though, you can see!:beach:
Sawyer is just starting to sit up well on his own!

Got this 4 wheeler at a yard sale a few weeks ago for $15, without a battery. Ordered a battery and charger on Amazon. Came while Gabriel was napping. He was sooo excited!

Last night was Aladdin! I made a tagine of chicken, peas, and potatoes! We also had homemade bread(not shown) and Moroccan orange cake!

Tonight has a Greco theme!! The movie is Fantasia. Originally I planned dolmades. Well, life often doesn't go the way planned. Instead, I worked on another recipe for my cookbook, Chicken Garden Patties. Served with Greek orzo salad! Sadly, I forgot to start dough for pita bread. :sad2:

Yay, Sawyer!!! Gabriel looks like he loves his new ride! I love the themed dinners!

Do you find Amazon good? I want the latest Kingdom Keepers book and it's cheaper on Amazon than ebay but I've never used Amazon before.

Love the pics of the kiddies btw. Gabriel looks like he's having great fun on his new ride. How is Isabelle's elbow?

Subbing so I can follow some of my favorite DIS'ers!
Hi Kelly!!!
Yay, Sawyer!!! Gabriel looks like he loves his new ride! I love the themed dinners!
Thanks Jennie!

I use Amazon the most for books! ;) We took the stitches out Thursday. It's looks ok!

Lots of sewing today!! Here are a few peeks!

This is a sz 18 mo romper I am working on, shortened at the top so that it is closer to the length of a 12 month. Sawyer is 7.5 mo! lol!!!!

For CP. I still have to make Isabelle an Eeyore shirt (her request).

For our beach day.

Meanwhile, I am torturing myself on the food porn board!! Not having dairy SUCKS!

It was a circus-y kinda evening!~!! Sorta! lol! The theme was Dumbo. I got a special treat, especially to Gabriel; Hot dogs! We cooked them out on a fire (not very circus-like, but fun!). I was prepared to make popcorn, too, but no seemed hungry for it. I make it on the stove with organic kernals, popped in coconut oil!! YUMMM!!!! Oh well, next time maybe!

We did have homemade lemon shake-ups, though! And Isabelle and I just finished watching the bonus features! The sound studio one was very intriguing to her. She had never thought about how sound effects are made, especially pre computers.

No pictures, sorry.

I love the winnie the pooh outfits.

All of the outfits are amazing!

Maybe I'll learn how to sew by the time I have grandkids (my oldest child is 8, should have quite a while!) I can see myself doing that for all of my grandkids and taking a huge family vacation. I just know even if I could teach myself to sew, I don't have time for it at this point in my life. While I enjoy all the "crunchy" things we do, I am still the sole provider. :scratchin Hmmm. I can get my DH to do many things (like cloth diaper and homeschool), but I don't think I can get him to sew. :rotfl:

Love all of the tropical stuff you've made (you know me and palm trees...BFF). That's my favorite followed by the Mexican Donald applique stuff. He's such a cute character.

I'm so ready to start our dinner & movie nights, but we still have a ways to go.

Have you seen the new Dumbo popcorn bucket from Storybook Circus? Make sure ya'll pick up one or two. They are so cute Alicia. The babies will love them.

I can't wait to see the pictures of everyone dressed up in their matching outfits. They're going to be the cutest kids at WDW!

ALICIA! I am FINALLY here and you are on page 3 with just over a week before you leave...I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see you back on the boards, I miss your "sunshine" when you are gone! The children have grown so much and I am with you , I forget Isabelle and Lisa are the same age...I think of Isabelle as older! How about you? So much cuteness here and I LOVE your outfits...you know that! Loving your theme nights!
