I'm a little nervous starting my first pre-trip report. I have sweaty palms and butterflies in my stomach as I type and I keep thinking things like, what if no one reads it??? What if I'm not able to make it entertaining enough to get past the first sentence?.................:scared: But I will try it anyway.

I grew up living a disney deprived childhood. I know pass the kleenex and cue the violins! I always loved everything disney, but my families idea of a vacation was going to Idaho to visit my grandparents. Not that there's anything wrong with Idaho, it's just not disneyland. Growing up in the west, going to disneyland was my goal. I finally achieved that a little over 2 years ago when my dh & I took our 4 kids and mother in law! Just picture 7 people in a minivan for 22 hours!! Within 2 seconds of walking down mainstreet I was sold. I drank the kook-aid! After about 2 months of being home I decided I had to go to disneyworld, but that's a huge expense flying 6 people cross country, so dh & I decided we'd try it out for ourselves to see if we really need to take the whole family there! So last feb we went on our first trip to the "world". Basically after first arriving I hugged the first cm I saw and like a scene from jerry mcguire exclaimed "you complete me!!!"

Ok, I planned on finishing up with our plans for this trip, but the kids just got home and seem to think I should pay attention to them. Sheesh, don't they understand?? :rotfl:

Yeah I get to be one of the first to reply!! I am so looking forward to reading all of your trip report as it moves along.:cool1:

You're doing great so far and the Jerry Macquire line was really funny!! :thumbsup2

So, when are you going, where are you staying, what restaurants are you making ADRs at...??? Inquiring minds want to know!

Present and accounted for..

Man with all the Peep reports it is difficult to keep up.:rotfl2:

Great start!!:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Great start.. cant wait to read more

As Sally Field once said "you like me , you really like me!!" I was seriously nervous yesterday about no one responding. My dh just shook his head at me...have I mentioned I have ocd??? Thank you everyone for "joining" me! I will do another post later today about our plans, but right now I have to go get some work done!

After we got home last year we decided we had to take the kids to Disney World. So after some financial "finangling" (is that even a real word?) we were able to book our package the end of December. Now DH and I had to decide how & when we would tell the kids. Our first plan was to not tell them untill the day of our trip. It sounded like alot of fun, but after a couple of weeks I remembered an experience from our trip to Disneyland................flashback.............we didn't tell the kids about going to disneyland, just said we were going to California to go to the beach and we'd go shopping etc, etc...So at a reststop about half way there I couldn't hold it in any longer and we told them where we were really going! I was expecting shouts of joy, declarations that I'm the best mom on earth, and possibly to hear the Hallelujah chorus in the back ground...the reality was my dd Bailie who was 9 at the time said "do we still get to go shopping?". My angelic chorus came to a screaching halt! .....................ok, so after remembering that wonderful reaction I decided we better tell them before, but I wasn't sure when or how still. My Grandma who raised me for 8 years fell ill the first week of feb, and died a few days later. My kids were really struggling with missing her, so I thought hearing about our trip would help to cheer them up. And then my devious little mind went to work......................on the first sunday of every month dh & I have "interviews" with our kids. Just to keep track of what's going on in their life and what goals they are working on. So Dh calls in ds Hunter (9) to our room, we then tell him about the trip but that we were only telling him, he couldn't say a thing to anyone else! He was so excited, his eyes were as big as saucers! So with a pledge not to breathe a word about it he left. Next dd Bailie (11) came in, I handed her the traveling documents and she nearly squealed when she realized what it was, again we told her she couldn't tell a soul. Up next was ds Evan (13) he got the same story. Our youngest ds Ethan (6) was busy so we were waiting to tell him. Now you may be wondering why we did it this way, other than the obvious reason of torture. Mostly we just wanted to see how long they could keep a secret. And the answer to that is about 6 minutes!!! Next time I'll introduce the players in my little world and the details of where we'll be and when!

This is my sig picture big enough to see it without a magnifying glass.

I guess now it's time to introduce the little puppets, or um people in my trip report.

Dh, D.Jay (38) He goes along with whatever plan I have and tries not to yawn or let his eyes glaze over when I'm talking about the trip or whatever new thing I've discovered.

Me, Cherie (32) OCD disney nut extrordinaire! I'm a "stay at home" mom and I love planning vacations

DS Evan (13) If compared to a disney character he'd be Tigger! He just happens to have 2 friends with the personalities of Pooh & Eeyore. He's just a great kid and a huge help.

DD Bailie (11) I guess I'd compare her to Tinkerbell. We like to say that she was born with pms! She's 11 going on 30!

DS Hunter (9) What can I say he's the tipical middle child. He has the funniest sense of humor and always makes me laugh.

DS Ethan (6) He's the baby and he knows it! He's a cheerfull little guy and has me totally wrapped around his finger. He wants to do everything the older boys are doing.

So there is my little family in a nut shell. This will be our first time taking the family on an airplane! The two oldest have flown with their grandma before, but it'll be a first for the other two. It shouldn't be that bad since at least once a year we make a 12 hr long road trip to my parents. The only thing is this time there will be an audience when I loose my temper. I'll have to do the whispering while grinning to get their attention.

Our trip is May 2nd -9th. We'll be staying at the ASMU in a family suite. We've booked the magic your way with dinning. My kids are excited over the prospect of ordering what they want and not having to share. We rarely go to restraunts without a drive thru so this will be a real treat.

Your family sound lovely Cherie and what a cruel Mummy telling them all individually and pretending it was a secret. How exciting for the little ones first plane journey, I can remember I was worried about youngest DD's first flight but after we'd been in the air about 15 minutes she asked when will we take off :rotfl2: Have you any ADR's booked yet? And have you seen the list of snacks you can get on the plan over on the restaurant board!

I'm here! I'm here! I'm so looking forward to another OCD WDW planner's TR! :thumbsup2 (Mr. Monk (TV show) ain't got nothing on me! )

Your family sounds great! This is gonna be good! :hippie: I can't wait to read more!

Take care,
-Michelle

Hi Jo! Yes I've seen the huge list of snacks! I'm so excited, when dh & I went last year you could ony get a few liitle things with it. So now not only do I know where I'm eating and what, I also know what I'm going to use my snack credits for! Now I just have to convince the others of what to get so I can try some of theirs too. ;)

I've never seen Monk, but my sis in law tells me that if I did, I'd find a kindred spirit!

Here's my newly revised itenerary ( I know I spelled that wrong, you'll probably notice that spelling isn't one of my many talents) and adrs. I've revamped this so many times it's ridiculous (again, I'm sure that's spelled wrong)!
Is it normal to have nightmares about things going wrong? I swear at least once a week since I booked this I'll have a dream about someone messing me up and we get way off schedule. I think it might be because for a brief moment we considered inviting extended family to join us. :scared1: The problem with that is, most of them don't know quite how crazy I am! It's one thing for my husband and kids to know, they're stuck with me! And I've explained to them why it's so important to have a "game plan" , get to the parks before opening, make adr's, and all that stuff.

Ok, here it goes! I'd love to hear any imput you might have for me!

May 2nd

Arrive at MCO @ 4:30 take magical express to ASMU. I think we should get there by 6:30. I haven't decided for sure what to do this night. Maybe DTD, but I'm worried that my kids will want to blow all their money the first night at world of disney. I've also thought about trying to catch Fantasmic this night.

May 3rd

Epcot, we'll stick to future world. I know my kids will want to spend tons of time in inoventions.
6:45 Biergarten, this is where I'll pull out my rusty high school german just to embarass my family. Dh asked me not to do this when it was the two of us, but now I've had another year to prepare! Guten Tag! Ich leibe wurst!

May 4th

MGM , I love the ToT and have convinced all the kids to try it once. I'm hoping the picture is good so it can make it on our christmas card!

4:50 Prime Time Cafe, I'm really looking forward to this one. I hope we get a good server who is really into the character. My kids know nothing about it!

Possible Fantasmic................I can't decide. When we went to disneyland 2 years ago, this was our only bad experience. We were there 4 days and on the last night went to see this. We staked out some good spots and sat for over 2 hours. Not long before it started a lady comes along and shoves her kids infront of ours onto some boulders. So basically all we could see, because we had to remain seated was these kids. When my dh asked them politely not to sit there the lady came unglued and was very rude. So now whenever I think of Fantasmic, I get this yucky felling...............

Sometime I need to fit in some pool time. I told the kids that if we don't have much time for swimming it's ok, we can do that at home anytime.

Is it normal to have nightmares about things going wrong? I swear at least once a week since I booked this I'll have a dream about someone messing me up and we get way off schedule.

yes, that's normal...for me at least! i've already had a few, including one where we were at wolfgang puck express and my entire family (who will not be there, just me and DH) refused to use the DDP that i had already paid for! the lastest one is where we've checked in at POP and we get a really crappy room where you can only see an overgrown weed-infested garden (like that would EVER be at disney!) and the only way to get to classic hall is by jumping in the pool and swimming there. yeah, wierd! :confused3 so you're not the only one!

by the way, i'm pretty sure we've discussed this before, but i'll be at epcot on may 7th, too! look for me and DH - he'll probably be the one carrying the bookbag with my lime green mickey head that says "punkin413" on it and i'm sure we'll have some sort of alcoholic beverage in our hands, but i promise not to be drunk and obnoxious to your kids! :lmao: say hello if you notice me and i'll do the same for you! (i'll have to go by your kids b/c i don't know what you look like!)

Just subbed. Can't wait to hear how you like the Family Suite. We have 3 kids, so we seriously considered it for our September trip. We ended up booking 2 rooms at the Pop, but maybe we'll reconsider after I hear how you like it...

just wanted to let you know i had another disney "nightmare" last night. everything was going according to my plan and then when we got to tomorrowland i had to use the bathroom. so while i was in there DH rode space mountain without me. when i told him he'd have to ride it again because i wanted to ride he said that i couldn't and that was just too bad. it was awful! and my DH would, A, never ride space mountain without me because he knows i love that ride and, B, never tell me what i could or couldn't do! when will the nightmares end????

So you know what I look like I'll post a picture of me. I have the same type of nightmares.....things that would never happen but still bug me! It usually involves a family member being there that we didn't invite, and they're always making me late!:) Oh, and I saw your post yesterday of your stuff from disney travel and I was jealous, but guess what? I got mine in themail yesterday too!:woohoo:
