Wine tasting?

Yes. On the 7 day eastern there was wine tasting which we really enjoyed.

There is wine tasting on the Wonder also, both the 3 and 4 day. I believe it was $12. It will be posted in your Personal Navigator and they will announce it also.

I did the wine-tasting on the wonder last year and it was a lot of fun, and very informative.

The wine tasting and the chef demonstration were two of my favorite activities on the ship.

We did the wine tasting on our 4 day Wonder cruise. On the 4 day cruise it is held at 3:00 on the third day (Freeport for us) and it lasted about 1 hour. First you get some general info on wines and proper tasting technique and then you sample 6 or 7 wines. Each wine is introduced and discussed as you taste it.

It was a nice break from the usual and we both liked it and would do it again.

I appreciate all the info...I really wanted to do this on the cruise...I have been to wine tastings at diffrent wineries, etc...thought it would be fun.

We enjoyed it, as well. It was informative and the wines were very nice. One cool things was when the presenter showed how to open a champagne bottle with the base of a wine glass (or butter knife). Basically, it uses the pressure of the champagne to break the end off cleanly. Very impressive.

We'll be doing it next week!

BS99, The wine tasting is a lot of fun! I have yet to try the champage opening trick, but it was impressive. We also had a small plate of cheese and crackers at each place setting and received a wine tasting pin.

Forgot to add:

Disneykids and BabySam99.....have a great cruise!!!

Is there an opportunity to purchase the wines? We are starting to collect wines and thought it may be cool to have a bottle or two to add to our collection. It would also be a great memory.

Do you have to make reservations like you do for Palo or spa?
Thanks

You do need reservations, although I saw a few people get in at the last minute since there was space. It wasn't as much a part of the "scramble" to get the reservations. Check your Navigator...the detail is there. Reservations are made at Guest Services. Check this link for a sample (3:00pm - 4:00pm). By the way, this is the Navigator for the 3rd day.

How much prior experience is needed before signing up for the wine tasting? I know nothing about wine tasting but would love to learn. I enjoy wine on special occasions and think this would be something that I could put to use in the future. Would I be embarrassed if I attend or are there others in my "boat"? ;)

Not to worry! You sit with your party, quietly listen to a presentation and taste. It's geared towards all levels of "wine experience". We had all types in our group and it made no difference. For $12 (I think), it was well worth it for us!

Enjoy...

I agree. My wine knowlege is very limited...I know what I like and that's what I drink. I picked up a few good tips and got to sample a few good wines. I loved the Moscato. A nice white wine. I believe made from the same grapes as Asti Spumante?

Thanks, DH and I will be signing up! I didn't want someone asking me what I thought of the wine's bouquet and me sitting there with the deer in the headlights look! SeaShelley, Asti Spumante is my absolute favorite!! :D
