I would love to try the wine tasting. First is it worth it? And second what does it cost? Third where can we sing up? My wife is not really a wine person would she still have fun? Thanks all:firefight

When we went, it was $12.

You sign up at guest services...as soon as possible once you board and get the rest of your necessary reservations, as it is a small group and the time slots go quickly. (offered on both sea days)

It is very enjoyable, and she can try the wine..if she doesn't like it, you can always drink hers..lol.

We would definately try it again.

The wine tasting is available on both the 7-day and 4-day cruises. I am not sure if it is available on the 3-day cruises.

I rarely post negatives here, but since you are asking opinions - if you've done wine tastings before, I wouldn't recommend unless it is a rainy day at sea. While it was nice to taste the wines they had on board, since they are only giving you one of each wine family (Merlot, Reisling, Chardonnay, etc)...you only sample that one.

Personnally for 1 hour of "entertainment" for $24 - DH and I will not do it again. But remember, we've done other wine tastings. And perhaps our group (and the room was filled) was sleepy, but the whole thing was a little dull. I would have rathered spend $24 on a single bottle of wine, sipping up on deck under the stars some evening.

Just my opinion.

My DH and I did it on our Wonder cruise and loved it. It was our first wine tasting and gave us a great chance to sample wines that we probably wouldn't risk trying any other way. We also had a really good group of people from all levels of experiences in wine tastings. If you've never done it before I would highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed the wine tasting. I would suggest doing the one that is later in the week. The one at he beginning of the week filled up but the one at the end of the week had plenty of space. The really nice thing about that, was that they allowed us to drink more of the wine that they had already poured in anticipaton of others joinin us. They also show you a neat trick on opening a champagne bottle. It's not the kind of trick you want to do everyday, but really cool at parties. We already have it on our planner of things to do on our may cruise.

It is available on the 3 day cruise. We were dying to do it, but we were always so busy we just never got around to it. Sounds like a good excuse for another cruise.

My husband and I went to the wine-tasting on 3-day Wonder and enjoyed it thoroughly. The information pamphlet they had about wines was just wonderful (in fact, my husband brought it back to share with a friend of his who works for our state wine council). Along with the wines, they serve a nice plate of cheese, crackers and grapes. For $12 a person, It was a great way to spend an hour or so on board. It also convinced us to order a bottle of the Fess Parker Chardonnay that night at Palo.

I enjoyed the "Stem to Stern" wine tasting. If you want to try several wines, it's a fun way to do and learn a little at the same time. It's not intimidating for a non-wine lover, but they might be bored. The staff are fairly knowledgeable, but they answered a few questions from participants incorrectly. I'll probably go again, but I also really like wine.

I did it, and had an enjoyable time with it. One thing I liked was being able to sample the various wines offered on the ship.

Of course the opening of the champagne bottle with a knife was a highlight.
