Wine question.

Sorry I have so many questions today . This is my firstDisney cruise and I am a planner-aholic. I want to bring my own wine since my favorite wine is a local Virginia wine.( I know about the $15 fee). I know I will not drink the whole bottle in one sitting On other cruises they save it until the next day, I didn't know if disney could because you change restaurants. Does anyone know if they will hold onto the wine you bring for the next night. Thanks!

Yes, they will. Although you change restaurants, your servers follow you to each restaurant (except Palo). Your assistant server will handle all your drink requests, including wine, and he or she will take care of that for you.

If it were me and I thought I was not going to drink the whole bottle, I would keep the bottle in my stateroom. I would get wine glasses and pour my DH and I a glass and take it to dinner.

If you pay the corkage fee, the bottle will follow you to the next night. I have done this, and I have also kept the bottles in my room, it when I havent opened them in the dining room. It's a matter of preference.

I just can't justify the $15 corking fee. Make mine Virginia wine too!!! We love visiting VA wineries and drinking VA wine. We will probably bring some to drink in the cabin, but my parents are considering the wine package, and we will try some others.

They probably offer some really good wines, and the servers are trained to recommend, but we also saw people pay $149 for a package and get wines every night that we can get in the grocery store here for $3.99 Beringer's White Zinfadel - not even a good wine. Do your Research if you want your $$ worth

Good point. Also, people often don't know that there is an upgraded wine list. Yeah, the prices are upgraded as well, but if you splurge on vacation and know your wines there are some good ones.

Some of us like Berringers White Zinfandel. I was more outraged that a 99 cent bottle of sparking apple cider for the kids cost $18 on board.

Yikes! I was just saying, the choice is there - $28 worth of wine for $149

I'm a Virginian and I'd love to hear what VA wines you guys like. (I can't possibly pass up a good wine discussion!)

My favorites are Burnley Vineyards Chardonnay, Williamsburg Winery's white wines, and Chateau Morrisette's Our Dog Blue.

Another VA wine drinker here! We love going to visit all the different wineries, although we have also been to a few VA wine festivals, too. Linden has a Vidal Riesling that we really like. I'll have to go check my wine racks and see if I can come up with any others! We also like Williamsburg Winery.

Chateaû Morrisette and Prince Michel are my favorites. Others include Amrhein, Horton, Barboursville, and some small producers like Stone Mountain in the Central Virginia Area. Another intersting one in SWVA is Villa Appalachia.

Oh yes, Villa Appalachia has some good wines, too.
Cooper Vineyards has a Sangria "kit" that is very yummy - they usually sell out of them at wine festivals very quickly!
