Wine Lovers...red or white? Favorite?

I am a big fan of wine... In the summer I lean towards white. Actually I am having Chardonnay right now (even though it is Christmastime). I like a good crisp Chardonnay. I can drink Sauvignon Blanc, but it is a distant second in white.

When it comes to red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon is my "go to"... I lean towards red more in the winter. In addition to Cab, I also like Shiraz, Malbec, Pinot Noir. I saw the movie "Sideways", but I don't hate Merlot. lol Chianti is drinkable for me.

Definitely prefer white!

Piesporter and Riesling are my favorites. German Rieslings are my preferred, but I do like Chateau St Michelle as well. I have yet to drink an Oregon or Washington Riesling I liked.:confused3

Love champagne and Prosecco too. And I throughly enjoy Costco Kirkland Prosecco. Nope, this girly girl doesn't need Dom Perignon. Give me that $6.99 ripple!! :lmao:

I will also enjoy Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc too.

.... yeah, now I want a glass of wine!! :drinking1

We enjoy Pinot Noir. Some of our favorites include St. Innocent, Evesham Wood, Haden Fig, Longplay, Anderson Family, Willakenzie, Belle Pente, and Goodfellow.

Not much of a wine drinker. I had a Pinot Nior a couple weeks ago, it was recommended to me and it wasn't bad. I'd drink it again if offered but not sure I would seek it out and buy more.

For New Years I celebrate with a pink Moscato Champagne (sparkling wine).

Oh, yeah prosecco is my jam as well. I'm partial to Ruffino or Lamarca. Haven't tried Kirkland yet, but I'll grab some tomorrow at Costco since you say it's good.

I love the Kirkland Prosecco! I have 4 bottles in the fridge now. 🥂

White: Riesling’s and Gewürztraminer’s

I also like Moscato, white is ok but I prefer blush. Barefoot and Flip Flop are my go to. Kirkland Sangria is pretty tasty too.

This past spring I started drinking St James Blackberry Wine and really like it. It’s sweet and flavorful, not dry.

Ohh for reds, I like Malbec or merlot. For whites. I like pinot Grigio or if I want something sweet I like a riesling.

DW likes reds -- mostly Pinot Noir. The Pinot we see most often in restaurants is Mark West and it's very good.

I'm not a big wine fan, but I do like Yellowtail Chardonnay from Australia. Very smooth.

I saw a funny YouTube video about Miami culture, and in the video one of the girls asked the waiter, "What's your cheapest pink wine?" Obviously a connoisseur!
 I thought it was just me...I find Australian Chardonnays to be lighter and smoother than Californians too. If you ever see Alice White Chardonnay on a menu, try it. Unfortunately it's not imported into Canada but I've had it while travelling and it's far-and-away the best Chardonnay I've ever tasted.
There are low- and no-sulfite red wines, as well as products that supposedly remove sulfites. I say “supposedly” because I’ve never personally researched the credibility of those products because I, fortunately, can drink gallons upon gallons of red wine without issue. ;)
 For me the "issue" would be getting blackout drunk but I guess maybe I'm just a lightweight. ;)

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Lmk!

Here’s what to look for:

White. Riesling, specifically Chateau St.Michelle or Dr. Loosen
Chateau St. Michelle Riesling is my favorite white. Very drinkable, fruity and crisp.

Have you tried Domaine Michelle Brut yet? It's Chateau St. Michelle's sparkling wine. In PA, it's about $11 per bottle and rivals Veuve Cliquot and Perrier Jouet for its fruit forwardness. I already bought our bottle for New Year's.

Sparkling wines are my favorites. Champagne, prosecco, cava, etc. Segura Viudas makes good and decently priced ones.

If you like Barefoot and Flip Flop moscato, you should definitely give Jacob's Creek a try.

I have not! Will look for it next time I'm at the store. Thanks!

The only Chateau St. Michelle Riesling I cannot drink is the sweet one. The mid range and even the dry are really good. And $10 a bottle is great price point!

I will definitely check out the sparkling wine of theirs. Thanks!!
