Wine Card at Epcot

If I could ask...Which one do you serve/give? Is it the Rose? I'm always curious which wines people love, and I'm looking for an Italian wine to serve with dessert. Thanks! By the way, if you have other ideas you might want to mention I would be happy to hear them. I typically like my wines crisp and clean, not to dry and prefere more of a sweeter taste and not the sweet that wine connoisseur's refere to...sweet to taste, but not to sweet unless it's going with a dessert. Hope that made sense. lol What kinds of wines do you like?

I'm also going to 2nd the Rosa Regale You can find it in the "champagne" aisle at the wine/liquor store - Here in a suburb of Chicago it is $19 - same price they were selling it for at EPCOT!! (and Binny's has put it on sale too!!)

it is red in color - smells like berries - it doesnt have a yeasty flavor - when paired with dark chocolate, it is like a choc dipped strawberry!! the bubbles are delicate, its a smooth, not too sweet wine/champagne!!

Thanks for the info on this! My husband likes wine, and he's had a really hard time at work the last few weeks... a great treat for him.

I'm not a big drinker, and when I have wine, I HAVE to have something sweet. I can't handle the dry stuff. I have found 2 whites and a red that I love....

The red is from an Oklahoma vineyard called Stable Ridge and is called Jeremiah’s Red........ sooo good. They're in Stroud for anyone close.

The first white is my all time favorite, but I can't find it here locally in FL (at least not yet) it's called Marco Negri (May have spelled that wrong) and is a sweet dessert wine, about $15 or so a bottle. It's an Italian, muscat.

The other white is from a winery in St. Augustine, FL called San Sebestian winery.... can't remember the name of the wine, but it was their sweet white... it was good.

I love wine - but it started slow - from tastings at wineries (in Michigan, Indiana and IL!) as well as going to EPCOT for Food and WIne...

I also started out liking the sweeter whites - there is a variety in each region, grape, style - so it helps to try different wines

The German, Italy, and France wine areas each have tasting - (I havent tried the passport, but I will! ) and you pay for 4 glasses - then you have a choice of which wines (or champagnes sometimes) you want - tell the CM which you prefer, and they will be happy to give you suggestions!!

The Rosa Regale was $10 a glass - and $19 for a bottle - so expect mark ups!!

I thank y'all for your wine suggestions! I'm going to have fun over the year trying them all out! Who hooo! LOL My DH will thank you too! A happy Mama in the house is a happy house. The family all think it's funny when Mama has a glass of wine because she becomes a really happy Mama. (I don't drink it very often)
I'm not seein it, but hey, what do I care! I get to try my wine!
I will be for sure getting a wine passport when we go next May.

BTW Sandy....I just read your reports on you doing the marathon! Wow! I laughed AND cried, I especially cried when you were giving us the details about coming towards the end of your race...when your angel heard you on the phone with your DH saying how you were sorry but you couldn't finish and him saying YES you could! I was a total bawl bag! I'm close to 40 and would looove to be able to say before I'm 40 that I've done some sort of marathon, and running at Disney would make it even better! I have a long way to go before I could even start training (some minor physical issues), but I have to say your story has given me some real food for thought. Thank you sweet lady for the inspiration AND wine suggestions!

I think it would be safe to assume for $20 it would be a 2 - 3 ounce pour - but knowing Disney - I would imagine it would depend on the CM doing the pour!! If a passport is 4 wines for $20 2ounces times 4 = 8 ounces - - that seems kinda small... so I would imagine it depends on the pourer..

and as long as you drink and walk - dont down the whole of it in 20 min (all 4 glass that is!! - you can walk it off!! or do like the PP said - invite me!!

At restaurants, the CM's doing the pours are very very good at getting exactly 1/4 of the bottle into a glass - so it doesnt save you any money to purchase a bottle of wine with dinner as opposed to buying 1 glass!!

All German wines were white, and IIRC there were choices in France/Italy that would let you avoid reds if you wanted. The Rosa Regale is a sparkling red, but really more of a "pink champagne" than a typical red wine like a merlot, shiraz....

I ended up finding it here at home (NH) for about $12/bottle.

It's about 3-4 oz or so (depending on how generous the CM pouring is).

I loooove the Rosa Regale too! Served it at our wedding, and we have a bottle for our anniversary on the weekend!

So, to those who have already used the card: we have a dinner reservation at Chefs de France on our last night. Are you able to use your wine card at dinner, or is it purely at the outdoor vendors? And, let's get complex!, if it is only the latter...could I pick up a glass outside and carry it into dinner with me?

Millie I know you weren't asking me but I LOVE Mascato D'asti.
It is a Sparkling white wine that is very sweet and not bitter.
Whole Foods carries it around here.

I just tried this wine for the first time last month and it is my new favorite. I was at WF yesterday and did not even think to grab any...... Susan

It really is the best wine I have ever tasted!!!! Otherwise I haven't found a wine that I like.

I think Whole Foods carries a brand called Bug Juice. Not as good as the original but still does the trick.

It normally can't be found at the normal grocery, but I did find something close called Verdi.

For those who don't know these are found in the sparkling whites section.

Hmm... good question! Pretty sure you can take it out of the wine shop with you, but not sure if the restaurant will let you bring it in or not.

(this is all as of December when I did this)

Wine walk is available for $20 which entitles you to 2 samples in each of 3 countries... France, Germany & Italy. You can purchase the "passport" in any of these 3 countries' wine shops which is also where you get your samples.

Samples are around 2-3 oz each and choices are preselected. In some countries you have a choice of a few options.
