I am struggling to decide on an arrival night meal for me and my family in May. We will be on the Disney Dining Plan and our party will consist of me, DH, and DS (7). I currently have an ADR for Homecomin' but keep wondering if we should try Wine Bar George instead. At WBG, we would probably get the Skirt Steak Family Plate with the three of us sharing it. Both DH and I are wine lovers so I am excited about a nice glass of wine being included, but the desserts on the menu are not thrilling at all. I have eaten appetizers at both Homecomin' and WBG, and both are delicious for different reasons. DH and DS have never been to either. Suggestions???

We ate at WBG on New Year's Eve and found it to be just right for the laid back yet celebratory mood we were in. Made a ressie there for our return with our traveling kiddos next week since I'm sure the younger ones will enjoy the food and vibe as well. Lovely offerings of the grape to go with the limited yet on point food menu. As for the desserts, go ahead and try the olive cake. I think we shared it and it brought back fond memories of days in Spain although it was a bit fancier what with the citrus mascarpone and fried olives on the side. I mostly concentrated on the cake and left the other components to the man.
The desserts do nothing for you? Grab a gelato of your choice at Vivoli or Ghiradelli's or maybe Sprinkles; all are worthy from a sweetness POV.

Much like the Italian places I've no need to eat Southern cuisine at WDW since I can get it just fine at home. We do eat at some Italian eateries at Disney to keep DGD happy since she's a pasta fiend.

We love Homecomin' and go every trip. DH usually gets the fried chicken and chocolate cake and gets a side of mac n cheese. I love the chicken sandwich and hummingbird cake, which is incredible. We also love the deviled eggs.

We have never been to Wine Bar George.
