Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2022 (Nov. 3-6, 2022)

I’m actually ok with that, because I can start out slow and enjoy the scenery to get warmed up, then really let go and zone out in my own head on the highway parts
That's a great perspective...I may borrow that ;)

To see the course maps on google maps: Link (the 10K map had a “learn more” button, and this is what popped up)

ETA: this is only the 5K and 10K, apparently

First half is cool, with lots of stuff to see. That last half is gonna SUCK.

Yes, that out and back at mile 8 doesn't look like fun. And did they really have to put the "Hill of Death" at mile 10? It isn't fun during MW and Princess and I was kind of hoping to not have to do it this time.

Ugh, yes, it looks like the same walk out as Marathon weekend and Princess. It's like a mile long!

Thanks for confirming this! That's what is initially looked like to me, but I was hoping that I was wrong.

I'm going to plot out the course in Garmin or Strava to get a GPX file and will post a picture of elevation. The image itself isn't great but I'm going to try and open it in an editor and get it a little bigger.
If you could share that when you are done, that would be awesome!

It looks like an almost identical course to the Tower of Terror Ten Mile.

I would much rather run it in reverse. But this is one way to make sure no one is even thinking about riding a ride in Hollywood Studios.

Attaching course map here, still not great resolution though.

Really dismaying race course. Registered in large part based on past courses (which were largely consistent). This really does seem like a deference to park ops at the expense of an enjoyable running experience. That seems to be the general trend across the board on multiple levels, so while disappointing, not surprising.

I ended up just using that Google Map for the 10K. I exported the KMZ file and converted it to GPX. Here is what it looks like in Strava (28ft of elevation gain):

I did my best to build the half map and the mile markers are close. Here is what I got (12 ft elevation gain):

In Strava there seemed to be a public heat map that corresponded to most of the course and since much of this isn't re-use as far as I can tell I'm guessing whomever ran/biked the course for measurement uploaded to Strava.
