Wine and Dine 2015

I hope mine was mailed right as I haven't gotten it yet. It has my city as my apartment number instead of NYC. Will have to go check if it came today.

Can someone post a pic of the front of the gift card? I collect cards (have just under 400 unique Disney cards) and so want to get a hint of what to look out for :)

I got mine. You'll know it because it's in a large card and envelope with a Disney Sports return address.

Mine did, too! Why??

Are these jams where the paper gets stuck in rollers, and you have to open up drawers/compartments on the printer to get it unstuck? Or does it just bog down the printer and never completely print?

The Event Guide pdf's in the past had a bunch of layers and a bunch of different fonts that probably should have been flattened before public release. My old phone used to freeze up on these things... Advertisers probably have special fonts too. Maybe the printing company of the physical programs wants all the layers intact. There might be a better postscript driver for your printer. Your printer might not have enough memory, it might be too old.

We should get a physical copy at the expo, we used to???

LOL. You sound like the tech guys at school and I never have any idea what they're talking about... The printers jam all the time, especially at the end of the day.. It tells you on the screen which compartment to open and pull out to get it unstuck. Sometimes we can figure it out ourselves and sometimes the tech guys have to come fix it. Luckily I Just canceled it and printed it later on when the machines weren't overheated. I just wanted to read it before hand and I hate reading things like that on the computer screen.

So what happens if you don't even get it to have the number?? That is where the issue will be.
Yeah, I mean, obviously if it doesn't get there in time then you won't have the number. :) I just meant they can cancel and reissue them if you lose it, so I'm sure they can cancel/reissue them if you didn't get it in the first place.

IIRC it's got the retro white/purple/green Mickey carrying the platter image on it. I'll post a picture tomorrow if someone else doesn't post one first.

I was psyched to get my park hopper today, too, so now all the stuff I was waiting for is here!

Is a zebra dome vegetarian? I always order vegetarian at Boma; it's all those doe-eyed mammals staring at me through the window. ha, ha, ha

Ha ha ha!

What can I say? I wore it at the princess 2014, what better homage to "princess" than "Steamboat Minnie"? That tail was a bit of a wardrobe malfunction because it kept getting between my legs, upfront...very wrong and un-Disney. I get the whole running skirt thing ;) If you aren't laughing with me you can at least laugh at me.

I really hope you know I am not only laughing with you, but stand humbled by your participant enthusiasm!!!

I was researching why endurance athletes tend to have low white blood cell count at this point in heavy endurance training. One thing that helps in retaining the white blood cells is doing at least 15 minutes active recovery in the 50% -60% Heartrate Reserve range after hard intervals. A few years ago there was some suggestion that l-gutamine supplementation helps too.

bazinga(or Hypoxic training in the grocery checkout line, you know hold your breath when people next to you sneeze until you leave or they leave)

Is this really true??? My white count has been low since July, when I started training. I don't know if I qualify as endurance to others... But some days it sure feels like endurance to me!!

Thanks to a fast, mostly downhill course, I got a big fat PR today on maybe my last 5K of the year! I may do some more in Nov or Dec, I'm not sure. This was my last planned one, though. :) 33:08, smashing the one from 2 weeks ago (34:55).

I did all 8 races in our Seacoast (NH) Race Series this year. It was five 5K's, two 10K's, and one 8K. My times went from 37:55 on the first 5K on May 2 to 33:08 today, Oct 24. :)

It was my last hard run I think before W&D. Going to take the rest of them easier the next 2 weeks.

Miranda!! Congratulations on the PR!!
That sounds like a fun series :)

I am surprised that it seems like no one else has gotten the card yet... I am way up in NH too! Some of you are much closer! :( rD really should have sent these out sooner.

No card here on Cape Cod... Anyone in MA get theirs yet?

No worries! Thanks for the advice. I am definitely new to running and races. I self placed myself at the back of my 10k and feel like I stayed pretty consistent with my pacing. I was surprised that only 5 people finished after me (out of 231 5k/10k combined) as I don't think I was that slow. I guess most people with my pace only did the 5k part. Only 5 people ran the 10k slower than my 13:33 pace. I know this won't be the case at Disney!

I noticed at my local races there are a lot less people at my pace, which is similar to yours. While the field was a little larger behind me it definitely wasn't Disney! And I'm always sower at Disney with picture stops and crowds. I am amazed at the non Disney races being the same one I run at training! But the fun of the Disney race is worth it to me.

Annoying for those of us who like to hold onto them and reload. Ok. So noted. I will just add more money into a "real" Disney Gift Card that doesn't have an expiration date and carry both of them.

Does This mean we can't add to it? I think I'll just get one of the wristband ones and then load my other gift cards into it our first day there since we don't really plan on a lot of F&W eating until after the race anyways. This does mean we have to carry two cards around for the after party though.

And now I REALLY don't want to go. A friend of mine is playing a gig in Toronto, and her sister (also a friend) is playing it with her. And a few of our other friends are going. And THAT is where I want to be in 2 weekends.

I am probably the only person to ever cry in sadness that she is going to Disney.

I don't know, but I won't even bother if it expires. I'd planned on using the extra towards a cruise deposit but won't be able to do that until December.

We ran 13 miles yesterday. It was a weird run. We were talking a lot at the beginning and then I hit a wall around 8.5-9 which was a little odd for me. I was playing with fuel so that may have been why. I'll stick to my original plan on race day. As a result I had a hard time the last couple miles, but was able to push through the last mile and finish strong. Hoping I'll be a little more successful on race day to have time to stop for pictures on the course and time at the after party. Otherwise, the run was good. My husband was a rockstar and so encouraging. I was really emotional after the run too so I have a feeling I'm going to cry like a baby when we cross the finish line!

My worst taper illness with, knock down flu symptoms, was right before Bicycle Tour of Colorado, like over a decade ago now. I had topped out with over 250 miles of cycling per week in training and I was still doing swimming and running maintenance as cross training. I would say that my experience with endurance taper illness was similar to that illness one gets after a stressful deadline passes. You are good while in the heat of battle but right after the deadline, illness sets in. I have noticed low eosinophil count on my routine blood test as part of my annual physical.

Moderate exercise boosts immune response. There seem to be some workouts that may compromise immunity. There are a bunch of articles/studies on immune response to exercise. Complete proteins, containing all essential amino acids might be helpful. Stay well hydrated...Vitamin C, zinc. I'm a fan of the stuff in Airborne as I sip hot lemonade from fruit picked off the bush, not 3 minutes ago... All that sugar we consume in sports drink might be suppressing immune response.

I'm so excited to have finished my last long run this morning. I went for 13.1, never doing that in training before(only done it twice, 2 official 1/2's I've run). I managed it, and I feel pretty good. I beat the times that I've gotten for my previous 1/2s but of course I had no crowds, no potty breaks, no pictures, etc... I just ran! NOW I'm ready! Lets do this! :) I have a feeling this is going to be a long 2 weeks.
Congrats!

I too ran my last long run this weekend. Finished my 12 miles exactly on my targeted pace but like you said- no crowds, pics, etc. I feel like I could PR at wine and dine but I have a feeling I won't because this will probably be my last W&D for at least a few years and I want to soak it in.

Sadly I have a feeling my next 2 weeks are going to fly by. I have a ton of stuff to do at work and at home and at school before I can relax in Orlando. But Thursday morning (the 5th) watch out! I'm 100% off duty! I do need to start doing and laundry and packing tho. Blah! My least favorite part of traveling.

No gift card here yet in Ohio. But, I did get my DME tags I had to reorder in less than a week, for those still waiting on them.

I still have a 12 mile run I was planning. Yesterday the weather kept reporting rain/thunderstorms/wind. But, it was sunny or cloudy only for most of it! I still didn't go out, after my weather trauma the last couple of long runs I figured I wouldn't risk it! I had a Halloween party last night so I don't think I am really in the greatest shape to run that long today. I am considering leaving work early tomorrow to get it in before dark. I know I could finish at this point, but I have done so well with my training plan this time around that I'd hate to skip it. Other than that, I am mostly just doing some shorter speed work until race day. Leaving on the 5th also! 10 more days...
