Windward Cay

I have just booked a villa at an area called Windward Cay.

Has anybody else stayed at Windward Cay and has got any tips on any nice restaurants nearby or things to do at the site.

Any help would be appreciated.

Windward Cay is a small private development enjoying a relaxed, tranquil setting and yet only minutes away from the action-packed Highway 192 with its vast choice of shops, restaurants and entertainment (you must try the crazy golf courses).

Disney World is only 6 miles or a 15 minute drive away and there is easy access to Sea World (10 miles), Universal Studios & Islands Of Adventure (12 miles), Wet And Wild, After-Dinner Shows, International Drive (4 miles) and many, many other attractions too numerous to mention. 1.5 - 2 hours away are Busch Gardens to the west (in Tampa) and Kennedy Space Centre to the east.

We are located in Kissimmee, Florida off of 192 and Siesta lago. Off the 192 there are all restaurants and shopping just 5 minutes from your villa. Golfing is just a 5 minute drive to the wonderful golf courses of Falcons Fire. Disney's theme parks are 15 minutes away.

So, it sounds like its somewhere off the 192, which gives you virtually unlimited restaurant choice!! Dont forget, you can access WDW via "the back door" by taking Black Rd or Sherberth Rd off of the 192. This will have you at Animal Kingdom in a couple of minutes!

We stayed around the corner from Windward Cay in Hamiltons reserve.

Good location to the 192 and the 535 onto Interantional drive south, Walmart within 2 mins.

Hi... we stopped on Windward Cay last Nov/Dec.
It's a small ( very small by most standards ! ) community, and we loved the place. There's nothing as such to do on site....I don't imagine there's more than 180-200 houses there, most seem to be homes for Americans rather than letting villas, very friendly atmosphere.
It's right on Marker 11 on the 192 , the turning is between the Argentine Steakhouse and a Japanese restaurant.It's only 300 yards from the 192 but a world away in terms of quietness. From our villa we saw ( and fed ) squirrels & racoons .

There's all the usual suspects for restaurants nearby...... tops for us were Pacinos and The Olive Garden, both great if you have kids ( particularly the Olive Garden. ) PizzaHut is 1 mile away and there's a Walmart within 1 mile.

Of the villas and areas we've stayed we all agreed ( me , DW and 2 kids ) that we liked Windward Cay best... hoping to go there again in late 2005.
