Wow! What a great place to stay! We had a 3 bed, 2 bath Condo that was perfect! I honestly can say that if you have a car while staying at Disney, there is no better way to go unless you spend eight times the price to stay in the Disney vacation club villas onsite. Everyone slept great in their own room and the washer and dryer were a real plus. We rented by owner from a web site: http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/
The owner was great to work with and the condo was accuratly represented. It was a very easy drive if you use the back entry (Sherberth Rd.) near Animal Kingdom. Last year there was a lot of confusion over the name. Two resorts were using the name "Wyndham Palms" They are right next to each other. We stayed at "The Palms" last year thinking it was "Wyndham Palms" . I guess both resorts lost out on the "Wyndham" name. This made the second resort change its name to "Windsor Palms". We liked Windsor Palms better. The Palms turned out to be a time share and Windsor Palms units are owned by the individual owners.
We are already planning a return in March!

I'm so glad to hear you loved it. We are heading there in less than 2 weeks.
How was the pool and common areas? Did you leave the parks mid day for a break? What was your average travel times to the parks each day?
Was there anything you didn't bring that you wish you did?
Any and all suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Timli,
You will love it! We did go home for breaks. If I was to bring something in retrospect I would have gotten a better map. Be sure to use Sherberth Rd. to access the parks. The common areas were great. The movie theatre was down for repairs but who needs a movie theatre when every room in the house has a VCR and a library of movies. The convience store has everything you may have forgotten and there is a supermarket on the way into the neighborhood. I am really sorry I did not spend more time hanging out at the condo. There are numerous popular restraunts right near the condo (Outback, Perkins, etc) It just could not be better!

I agree with Robinrs what a great review! I am glad to hear I am not the only one who really enjoyed Windsor Palms. We first stayed there last year when it was Wyndham Palms and then we were there for this past Thanksgiving. The only change was the name and the new town houses. The kids convinced Glen and I to take them back for Spring Break.
The clubhouse is spectacular the kids were always asking if they could go to the private movie theatre.
We have rented each time from Global and were very pleased with their service and the house. Their new website has a virtual tour of the clubhouse Windsor Palms Resort

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Windsor Palms. We just loved our stay there in a three-bedroom condo in March of this year and I'm really happy you had a good time too. Isn't it a beautiful resort? We really didn't want to come home. We're planning our return visit there too...it really spoils you for a hotel room with two kids where there's no washer and dryer or room to spread out.

One more thought. I have found some very good prices on the homes with pools in Windsor Palms using a website sponsored by eVillas. However, you are renting directly from the owner and the prices are considerably less than Global's. Just another option! I'm glad to hear all the positive comments because I think this is what we're going to do the last weekend in May with our two teenagers.
