WindSOR or WyndHAM Palms?

I was just looking at townhomes on the closesttodisney site and saw that they have some of their photos listed as "Windsor Palms, formerly Wyndham Palms". Is this true? I thought these were two separate properties!

I don't know Wyndham Palms was a timeshare and I though the other was single owners in a development - they were very close to each other.

Yes it is true. The housing subdivision was originally Wyndham Palms (sp) but they were sued by the other Wyndham and had to change it to Windsor Palms.

I was in the process of making our first ressie when the change took place, so I remember being confused.

LIFERBABE is correct. Windsor Palms was originally named Wyndham Palms but was forced to change the name. Funny thing is the main street through the complex is still Wyndham Palms Way. I guess it was too much trouble to rename the street.

Windsor Palms is a gated community of 2 and 3 bedroom condos, 3 bedroom townhomes and 3-6 bedroom pool homes, all privately owned. We stayed there in 2003 and thought it was extremely nice.

I have not been to Wyndham Palms so I can't comment on that.

Disneysteve---- about how old was the Windsor Palms development??? We're looking for condo for an April trip. So far I've been sticking w/ Emerald Island since I knew it was newer. We had a rental home in this development 18 months ago. I wouldn't be opposed to looking elsewhere if I could find another newer development. W/O the Formosa Garden type prices!!

I've stayed at Windsor Palms in the condos before. We're staying in the condos again in less than a month, and we've booked a town home for our Thanksgiving trip this year. I've looked into the property tax records as a way of verifying ownership, and at least some of the condos were originally sold in 2003. Some may be a bit older than that, but I'd say it's definitely a newer development, and probably similar to Emerald Island in age.

Absolutely. The complex was built within the past 3 years or so. It is one of the newest in the area.

I may be leaning that way then. The rates there are about $100-150 less per week for pretty much the same thing and amenities.
