I have been doing some research for our October 2009 trip. We will be staying at WH this time. WH and AK are so close together. Would it be possible to park at AK and take a WDW bus to where ever we need to go? For example, park at AK and take a bus to the MK. We like to be in the parks early, so wasn't sure if the buses to other parks would be running that early in the am. Thanks for the info!

I believe you could, but I have to ask "Why?". It is so easy to drive around on WDW property to get to the parks, and it would certainly be quicker to drive yourself wherever you want to go rather than rely on Disney's transportation from AK.

I agree. If you have a car I would just go ahead and drive to where you want to end up at. We drove to WDW that last time we went and I was amazed at how easy it was to get around, and how easy the parking lots were to get in and out of. Much faster than the buses, plus you don't have to wait in line when you are tired at the end of a long day.

We loved having a car and seriously will never go back to Disney without renting a car. It was SUPER easy and obvious to find your way from Windsor Hills to the Parks. You will love being able to come and go as you please.. with out lines. No worries.

i agree with the pp's: that IS a lot of work. if you parked at AK, there is no direct bus to the MK. you would park, take the tram to the front of the park, hop a bus to a resort, and then wait for a bus at that resort to take you to MK. to much time wasted on transport when you have your own wheels. :)

AK is maybe one minute closer, but you'd lose 30 min. waiting for a bus. It takes us 5 minutes from the time we leave WH until we are in one of the parking lots at the park. There is a main road you drive on and then you just follow the exit signs to the respective parks. Once you exit, you are in the parking lot. If you get there at opening, you will be parking very close to the entrance gate. There are also shuttles that take you right to the front gates if you are not in one of thefirst 20 or so rows and we've never ever waited for the shuttle (connected "golf-cart" stlyle shuttles). We are walking through the gates in 15 from the time we leave our condo. Driving right to the park is much faster than the buses. We've done both.
