I am in the process of posibbly renting a home in this resort. It will be my first time renting from a private renter and would like any advise from people who have done this before.
Should I get renters insurance? If so, from where?
Also, for anyone who has rented in this area, how was your experience?
Thanks

We usually stay in this area either in WH or one of the other subdivisions. It's within a mile of 192 and hundreds of restaurants and shopping but is still quiet and not too much traffic once you leave 192. Once you're there you take back roads the parallel 192 to get to some of the restaurants. There's also the Sherberth Rd. entrance to Disney that can help you avoid 192 if it's busy.
Once you know the owner's name you can check out the tax records for confirmation of ownership. For that area the website is :

We usually get cancellation insurance through insuremytrip.com in case of emergencies that would keep us from going.
We love renting vacation homes but it's not for everyone. You have to look after everything yourself, no maid service. You live like you do at home with towels to wash, garbage to look after, beds to make (or not ), even have to buy toilet paper, laundry detergent and these type of usable things. But you have lots of room and privacy, and we like not having a maid coming and going when you're around.
BUT you do need a vehicle to get around. If you don't have one then don't stay in this type of rental. Bus schedules are not convenient and can be costly per person.
Here's a map of the area that will help you see where you are in relation to Disney and 192. WH is #1 and the Sherberth Rd entry is Line #1.

Thanks for your help.

I am still looking for any more advise from anyone who has rented privately on what I should be asking and doing!

I know the owners name but not the actual address of the house so I was unable to find out any information.
Also, does cancellation insurance just cover if I cancel or does it cover me if the renter doesn't come through with the property?

Thanks
