I know this is probably an odd question but why do so many of the rentals only have white blinds in the bedrooms??? We loved the condo we stayed at last year in WH but it was only 2 bedrooms and we need a 3 bedroom this time around. Whenever I check out the pics. online none of the bedrooms have curtains...except for perhaps a valance at the top. :confused3 My kids will be up at the crack of dawn if there aren't curtains in the bedroom! If you've stayed at a 3 bdr. with curtains in the bedrooms please lmk!

Lack of decorating?

Most of our rooms have curtains in the bedrooms. My DW didn't feel the home was properly finished until the curtains went in.

We actually just added a valance, curtains, etc in our great room as well, youch! ($700 later!) I had no idea how much this stuff costs! (She tells me consider myself lucky as this is pretty reasonable!)

Although, getting up early when you're at Disney is actually a very good thing, it's THE single best way to beat the crowds at the parks, you need to be there right at park opening. (And as a family, mine is very guilty of not usually getting there that early! hehe)

Best strategy though is get there right when it opens (which means you need to leave early to be there right when the gates open)...and leave by 12-1pm when it gets super crowded, go home, take a break, swim, etc.

Yes, that's what we did on our last trip in May and it worked out GREAT!...we were there for the opening of each park.....the problem was that my kids were up too far ahead of when we needed to leave and therefore got tired earlier in the evening...even though we did do the pm break. Since we're planning to go in Nov./Dec. this year maybe that won't be a problem as the parks close earlier and it does get dark earlier and the sun does come up a little bit later. All the lights in the parking lot do get annoying at night though when you're used to sleeping without light coming through the windows all night long.

And....you're excited as all get out cause you're in DISNEY! :)

 pirate: y'arrr...

We've stayed in a Windsor Palms condo or townhome 8-9 times and none of them had had any curtains that would block the light, and they all have (what appears to be) cheap white blinds. We've been known to drape a blanket over the curtain rod if they had a valance there. For my upcoming trip I'm packing aluminum foil and a roll of tape and will just black out our bedroom window. Classy, huh? We'll be going back to take a nap during the afternoon, and I must have darkness.

We have blackout shades at home and are definitely used to dark bedrooms, and have also had trouble with this in the condos & town homes. In all the places I've even looked at, I don't recall seeing any with floor length drapes that would block light. I'm guessing they're just too hard to maintain and keep clean & dusted.

I'm curious to see if anyone has found any other places with blackout drapes.
