Is there a fee to use the Windsor Hills pool when you stay there? I was reading another post comparing the Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills and they said one benefit of the Palms was you didn't have to pay to use the pool. If there is a fee...how much is it?

WH has coded gates to the pool and playground and also coded doors to the clubhouse games and fitness room. When you get to WH you go to the clubhouse office with your rental papers (to prove you're a guest at WH) and ask for an access card. You have to pay $6. for each card. This will allow you access to the above areas. When you're ready to leave WH take the cards back to the office and you will get your money back. If you lose the card then you won't get a refund. Just remember if you have an early flight to take the cards back the night before. So there isn't really a fee to use the pool. It's just a little nuisance to keep track of the card. :)

The access cards at Windsor Hills help to keep the facilities for the use of resort guests only - they expire at the end of your vacation. In the early days of Windsor Palms they got vsitors from other communities using their facilities!

Do you need a card for each person or just one per family? We're going down and staying there with grandparents, son, and two grandsons ages 8 and 9. The grandsons won't be going by themselves so would we need a card for them also?

You just need one card per family. The card allows you to open the gates to get into the pool/clubhouse/fitness center.

I have older kids. If they wanted to go by theselves, they would need to use thier own key, or we would have to take them to let them in--- am I correct?

Maybe we'll get two cards-- one for the adults and one for the older kids.

We are at Windsor Hills now. Yesterday, we went to the pool and left the card on one of the lawn chairs with our towels. When we came back to the chairs, the card was gone. WH has no way of tracking the info and they were a bit rude to me in the office when I asked if anyone had turned in the card. They get all kinds of info from you before issuing the card, but there is no way to track it, so whoever took our card will get my $6.00 when they turn the card back in. Just make sure to keep good track of the card.

Sorry that happened to you. So do you need to card to exit or just enter? I was thinking I could swipe them in and then let them leave when they want to.

I guess it depends on how far away from the pool you are. We were told our Townhouse was a five minute walk to the pool and back. It might be better to get two keys if you're not right near it.

You would be able to do this. You only need the card to enter; you can exit freely.

Are you at a Robinson condo? (VacationcentralFlorida?) They advertise that they are 5 minutes away from the pool as well.

I'm renting the original 204 unit from them in August.

Good to know. I can let my kids in and they can leave whenever.

Yes, but keep in mind they will need the card if they need to go to the bathroom which is in the clubhouse. The doors only open with a card swipe unless someone is inside and opens it for them. I bought a new card. The kids are swimming now so I just let them in and will go back to get them in an hour. I won't leave the card with them though. "Finding" a card is like finding $6.00. I didn't know someone would actually steal someone's card, but now I know better.
