So I have put a deposit down on a townhouse at wh. My final payment is coming up and I emailed the owner 2 weeks ago around Christmas and I haven't heard back. I emailed again this morning but no response yet. When should I start freaking out? Should I call the mgmt company? Will they speak with me if I booked with the owner direct??? Help please! It's booked through homeaway so I have that comfort at least?

Sometimes owners are on vacation themselves and don't get their emails for various reasons. You can always check with the management co and just let them know that you need to get in touch with the owner because you payment deadline is coming up. They may be able give you some info.
I've had this happen a few times and it's usually because the owner is out of the country on vacation, having technical problems with their email or family emergency or sickness, whatever. But call the man.co. if your anxious.

When I booked it he was quite responsive. Even in Oct when I had questions. But nothing at all when I emailed this time.

The last owner I rented from told me when I made my first deposit that even though I wouldn't hear from them everything was good. They would be out of the country for a couple months but if I really needed anything to email them otherwise sit back and just wait for your vacation. Owners do this all the time and I guess they maybe don't see anything to be concerned about whereas we on the other hand are worried about the whole process.
One owner didn't get back to me with the entry code until a couple days before we went. I had emailed her day after day from a week out but she had problems with her email and had thought she had already sent the codes.
Hope you hear from them and everything works out for you.
